We recently had an engine failure on on of our older vehicles and were in need of finding something fast. We have never owned a Honda but have family members who are life-long Honda owners. So we have heard the sermon of high quality and long service for many years. We had planned to trade the older vehicle in the Spring, so we had researched vehicles and settled on the CR-V. I like to walk into a dealership with the feeling that I have the upper-hand in the soon to happen negotiating process. To say I felt vulnerable that night is an understatement. So at 5:30 PM on a cold rainy December night I walked into the showroom certain that no deal would be made that night. We met with Reginer and told her what we were looking for - in detail. She had the vehicle sitting in the service bay in 10 minutes. It would have been easy for her take advantage of our reduced negotiating status and bring in a vehicle with more options than we were looking for, she did not do that. We drove the CR-V and loved it. I had to keep telling the wife to not get too excited because the hook is coming soon. Reginer gave us a great price and we accepted with no hassle. We went to see Bryan McLaurin to inquire about financing options. Again on the way, I whisper to my wife - you know we are not going to buy a new car tonight, right? I always research for the best car prices before I buy and have sometimes purchased cars at better prices in other cities or states. I heard comments from some people at work that Bryan Honda prices are and have sometimes purchased cars at better prices in other cities or states. I heard comments from some people at work that Bryan Honda prices are not very good since they have a lot of people walking in with big bonuses. I am not military, but some of my military friends mentioned unfortunately that could be true sometimes. Regardless, I contacted Bryan, and talked with Reginer Thompson. I told her what I had heard, what I was shopping for, and the price I was willing to pay. I also told her I am talking with Dealers in surrounding States. We have many friends and family elsewhere and had no problem buying elsewhere. Reginer met and beat all prices, quickly and efficiently. All that was in March 2012. We just recently traded our other car and she again had the winning offer. I realize a good deal is personal and subjective, but the numbers were extremely good, lets just say well below dealer invoice. They did not have color we wanted so Mr.Oates got busy to find us one. He called a few days later one had been found. We loved it at first glance and drives and rides just like we wanted. Mr. Oates worked hard to get us right price and what we wanted. He is a very good salesman thankfully he is not overbearing as we have found some to be. He listened to our needs and acted on them.
