This was the first time we used the dealership for service. We called to make the appointment. We didn't get an email confirmation, so I felt the need to call the day before to double check my appoint service. We called to make the appointment. I just didn't think a routine oil change would take that long with an appointment. Also confused about next scheduled maintenance - said 5k miles or 6 months. I thought the suggested maintenance on the jettas were 10K miles? Again, just confused with it being our first trip to the service department. More
They were able to locate my Care Package that I got when purchasing my car, so my oil change and also found a recall that was needing to be done on my car. took a meticulously maintained VW diesel into this dealership's Service Dept several days ago and told them what the issue was, and turns out we had 100% properly diagnosed the general problem for the dealership's Service Dept several days ago and told them what the issue was, and turns out we had 100% properly diagnosed the general problem for them (turbo related) - so diagnosing and repairing the issue was extremely straightforward - nonetheless, the service writer (ShaneP) and Tech (?) got busy diagnosing over $12,000 worth of unrelated items on the car in a SIXTEEN page estimate full of items they claimed needed repair or replacement - many of which had been addressed recently, some just a month ago in a full car review by a top VW mechanic with over 25 yrs experience, and 1 item addressed just week ago during normal preventative maintenance servicing at home before traveling to TX. One of the suggested and completely unrelated repairs to the turbo inlet pictured below they suggested was going to require removing the entire bumper and grill assemblies of the car!! When I inquired with Shane about the estimate he backed off of it immediately, fumbled around, accused me of not trusting him and the dealership, till he agreed the only truly needed turbo inlet repair of $825 was necessary to get my wife back on the road safely. His very casual familiar "my friend" attitude shifted dramatically with me and he couldn't get us out of his Shop fast enough. BUYER BEWARE!!! More
