I had been researching a vehicle prior to Hurricane Milton. Obviously the dealership was impacted by the storm (only operating at 30% power supply). We met with Blake Perry in the afternoon of Sunday, October 13, 2024. Pleasant and willing to please. He showed us the vehicle in various colors and we arrived at the one we wanted to purchase. Now, comes the hard part - arriving at the sweet spot. I expected a little bit of back and forth between Blake and finance. After 3 attempts, we arrived at that sweet spot. Then, Ray arrives (from New York - I didn't capture his last name) and begins to "re-negotiate" the deal. I stared at him and stated we have a deal in place. He retreated but it left a negative impact. Then, onto financing where I met with Bryan Cigliuti. Again, nice enough guy. Unfortunately, he just "assumed" a loan term of 72 months (6 years). I have never purchased a vehicle with this lengthy loan term. And the only reason I signed was because I was tired and ready to leave (it is over 2 hours by now). The vehicle was purportedly equipped with wheel locks. I had to come back for them, as it was getting late and I live about an hour away from the dealership. It was almost dusk so I couldn't discern whether I liked the tint on the windows. Pending issue. A new car is supposed to come with 2 keys. Again, I came back for it. Lastly, the vehicle only had enough fuel for 45 miles - I wasn't going to be able to make it home. Trying to find a gas station with gas in Tampa, FL after the hurricane is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Blake found one, and I volunteered to wait in line for it (on my own dime, which I was told I would be reimbursed with a $50 gift card. I assumed (an error in my part) that the gift card would be for fuel or money (like a VISA). I don't know if my face showed the disappointment when it was for food. All in all, I learned that I should never visit a dealership after a hurricane and one that is located so far away from my residence. Blake did his job the best he could under the circumstances. More
