Boyd's dealership has a small town feeling which is very different than many dealers in Raleigh and Durham. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, but still excellent salesmen. We left knowing they wanted to sell us a car, but were not pushy. We dealt with Seamon Rice and Edison Hawkins. Both were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and down to earth. We visited twice, initially to drive a Honda Civic and Honda Accord. We were still in the evaluation process and when we left Mr. Rice let us know he would work with us on pricing when we were ready and that we would be treated well at Boyd. A couple days later we received an excellent price through an on-line service and had many dealers from which we could choose. Due to our experience with Mr. Rice we decided to drive from Raleigh to Oxford. Our decision had come down to the the Accord and another brand not offered by this dealership. The Accord was our first choice as the alternate car was a step down in comfort, but with an excellent price. We discussed the price and financing with Mr. Rice and conveyed that either could be a deal breaker. After only a few minutes and absolutely no pressure sales tactics we had reached an agreement which was very close to our original request. Close enough there was no need to look further., no need to speak with the manager or anyone else. Mr. Rice took care of everything. We financed through Honda Motors and received an unbelievable financing rate from Mr. Hawkins! Mr. Hawkins asked about our auto ownership patterns (trade-in frequency, yearly mileage, etc) and already knew the direction we were headed. We normally do not purchase any extended warranties on items we buy, but the 72 month/120,000 mile extended warranty was too good to turn down! It was a pleasure working with Mr. Hawkins. After only a couple hours we drove away in our new Accord. The drive was made even more enjoyable by the car buying experience and friendless of the staff. I went into Boyd Automotive looking for a Honda and after looking at a 2013 Honda Fit, I felt like there was just not much car for the money. The monthly payments were extremely high and that was something that I did not want. I did not want to get something that I could not afford. Then Mr. Rice ask me if I would be open to looking at some other vehicles. I went into Boyd with an open mind and said why not look at different options. So I looked at a Ford Focus. Not only was there more car, the payment was less. I was really pleased with my 2014 Ford Focus Purchase and certainly pleased with the Boyd Automotive Center. I worked with Seamon Rice and Rob Vulgamott and both were very friendly and helpful. I will certainly return to Boyd Automotive for my next car purchase. Thanks Seamon and Rob! More
