I feel very fortunate to have worked with Robert Ferrand during my purchase of a new VW Touareg. Throughout the process, Robert treated me and my family with respect and fairness, and made a clear and succ during my purchase of a new VW Touareg. Throughout the process, Robert treated me and my family with respect and fairness, and made a clear and succesful effort to exceed our expectations. Ultimately, Robert found us exactly the vehicle we wanted for a very fair price. I would not hesitate to work with him on my next purchase, and recommend him to friends/family. More
The morning after someone hit our car, we dropped it off at the body shop and were told it would be 1 to 2 weeks, depending on how responsive the insurance company was. We already knew the insurance estimat at the body shop and were told it would be 1 to 2 weeks, depending on how responsive the insurance company was. We already knew the insurance estimate would be low and Dan said that VW would take care of all of the back and forth with the insurance. I was glad to have a dealer involved with that voice of authority. What I really appreciated about the experience was the handful of interactions with Dan: he was patient, clear, open to questions, and willing to talk until I had it all clear regarding insurance, loaner car (and how to have insurance cover the cost), timing, etc. In the end, it was ready on Friday and Dan tracked us down -- called all the numbers he had for us until we answered -- so that we could have our car for the weekend. And OH, the car was CLEANED during it's stay there. More
We bought a new 2012 Volkswagon Jetta Sports Wagon. Rob, our salesperson, was great! He was friendly, answered our questions and there was no pressure from him about buying the car. I feel we got a good tra our salesperson, was great! He was friendly, answered our questions and there was no pressure from him about buying the car. I feel we got a good trade-in value for our old car and a good price for our new one. The only trouble we had was trying to get the exterior color we wanted but are happy with what they had in stock. Rob also took the time to go through all the interior features with the car and helped getting our cell phone linked up with the car's bluetooth feature. I would recommend using Rob as your salesman at Boston VW. More
We were approaching the end of a Jetta Lease and went in to have our lease bought out and get into another car. By the time we left I actually thought I was on a hidden camera show and John Quinones (What w to have our lease bought out and get into another car. By the time we left I actually thought I was on a hidden camera show and John Quinones (What would you do) was going to come walking out. First we met with a very nice salesman. He showed us the car we were looking for and even promised to throw in a NAV system for free. "Great!" As we were sitting at his desk with him, the service (manager?) stormed over and berated him for something. Screaming, he said "I hate this f'ing place, I hate the f'ing people....etc. All of this within one foot of my wife and I. My wife was appauled but I decided to ride it out to get the "great deal." It was late so we made an appointment to return the next day to have our turn in car appraised and go over numbers. We called the next day to see if we could come in earlier and were told by our salesman (who we liked) that he could no longer work with us because I had clicked on a "get quote" button on the website and now must work with the internet salesman (who actually emailed me a written quote with a good monthly payment). We complained and after two more calls were told it was ok to work with our guy. We went back in and were just starting to work out numbers when the conversation was taken over by the business manager who laughed at the "thrown in NAV" that we were promised and also basically discarded the emailed quote and then came back with a ridiculously high monthly payment. He basically scolded the salesman (in front of us) for even making the offer and then proceeded to explain why we had no idea how this works (in detail). We had enough and stood up and laid out how "nuts" this place was and left. From there went to Colonial in Medford. Night and day difference in professionalism. They treated us respectfully and were very helpful. The number was better but we tried Quirk in Braintree (also a great buying experience) and left a few hours later in the exact car we wanted (with he NAV) for less than I was paying on my turn in lease. I wanted to drive back to Watertown and hang my a$$ out the window of the beautiful new car in front of their showroom, but my wife's classiness prevented it. I would not buy a candy bar from the Boston VW vending machine. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!! September 22, 2011 More
Chris Trombino is the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with in the car business. I had negotiated the terms of the car price and the financing terms over email. Because Chris and Gavin had a mi ever dealt with in the car business. I had negotiated the terms of the car price and the financing terms over email. Because Chris and Gavin had a miscommunication about the interest rate that was quoted, Chris had a MELTDOWN of epic proportions. Problem was, he had this argument with Gavin and the ensuing meltdown in front of his customers. Initially Gavin tried to take the stance that they wouldn't have a reason to withhold a lower rate from us. For anyone not familiar with the financing peice of buying a vehicle, the higher the rate the dealership can give to the client the more of a kick-back/rebate the finance manager and the dealership receive back from the bank they put the loan with. After a heated exchange, Chris conceded the lower rate only to BERATE my girlfriend and I for the next 20 minutes while he put together the paperwork. He accused me of mistreating them even though I had almost no interaction with them outside of the even-keeled, straightforward emails that I mentioned. At one point he suggested that he might "mess up" the paperwork "accidentally", I guess as a way to get the last laugh. At one point I thought we were getting Punk'd because I have never encountered someone so emotionally unstable not just in a business environment but in general. I figured he was an established actor hired by one of my friends to mess with us... We were subjected to this for close to 20 minutes before we were finally allowed to leave with a car that was priced right but with memories that will scar our psyche for a long time to come... More
Jose was an excellent salesperson to work with. He was very helpful and patient with me and not pushy at all. I wanted a black on black Jetta and they didn't have any available anywhere in the state. Jos very helpful and patient with me and not pushy at all. I wanted a black on black Jetta and they didn't have any available anywhere in the state. Jose managed to find one in a different state and work something out so that I could get what I wanted. He also continues to follow-up and check in with me to see how the car is running. I would recommend Boston VW and Jose to anyone interested in purchasing a VW. More
I just yesterday picked up my newly purchashed 2011 Tiguan from Boston Volkswagen. A few months before the purchase, I went in just to look, and was met by Jose. At that time I told Jose that I was int Tiguan from Boston Volkswagen. A few months before the purchase, I went in just to look, and was met by Jose. At that time I told Jose that I was interested in the Tiguan but was not ready to buy at that time.....it would be a couple of months before I was ready to purchase. Jose was extremely polite and helpful answering all of my questions about the car without the usual sales pitches. Jose showed me the Tiguan, politely pointing out all of the basic features of the car and basically left me alone to survey the car at my leisure.....zero pressure. When I returned a couple of months later to make the purchase, he was just as friendly and professional as my 1st visit. Prior to my purchase of the Tiguan, I did do my research with regard to purchase prices as well as trade in pricing for my previous vehicle. Much to my amazement, we were able to close the deal in about 5 minutes of discussion..I got everything I was hoping to get (purchase price, trade in etc).......I was very happy!!!!.......Far different from the experience I went through the week before at a local Audi dealership in purchasing a new A4 for my wife......the difference was night and day. When I picked up the Tiguan, Jose sat with me and spent his time teaching me the things about the car, the navigation system, radio, hands free telephone etc.... He showed no interest in anything else but making sure I understood what I needed to know before driving off with my new purchase. I am very very happy with his preformance in seeing that I got what I wanted at a price I was happy with. The same goes for Chris in the finance department.....great guy....friendly....got the interest rate I wanted...what more can be said. If you want to by a new Volkswagen, see Jose at Boston Volkswagen....I am happy to refer him to anyone. More
I went to Boston VW just to test drive the 2011 Jetta SportWagen, and I was thoroughly impressed with the ride of the car. And then I bought it. Coming from a BMW convertible, I had my doubts, but I was SportWagen, and I was thoroughly impressed with the ride of the car. And then I bought it. Coming from a BMW convertible, I had my doubts, but I was very impressed. I met Jose months prior to this visit, because I was curious about the Golf TDI. I remember how nice he was when I first met him. He showed me many different features and even took me out to the lot to see how the car's driver's seat felt for me. I ended up passing on the Golf TDI. That was November or December of 2009. Fast forward to March 2011, I'm in the market for a station wagon (my favorite kind of car), and I meet Jose again at Boston VW. He was happy to show me a red SportWagen that I saw in their website's inventory and apparently arrived only 10 days prior to my visit. He gladly got the car for me from wherever it was in inventory (I forget if it was in the second lot), and got it ready for me to test drive. The test drive went very well. Jose talked about random fun things while telling me where to go to experience the features of the car's ride and steering. I also asked about certain features and he was happy to accommodate my requests (e.g. turning onto a side street to test the turning radius). After we got in, he asked if I'd like to find out the trade value of my car or just come in another time. I felt no pressure from him at all. I didn't expect to talk numbers the same day I test drove this car, but I did. (The ride really is that amazing.) Jose is the most straightforward car salesman I've ever met. He went to KBB.com on his computer, and we looked up my car's trade value together. Then he checked with his business manager and gave me a pretty fair trade value (on par with what I was quoted at other dealerships). THEN he took out a receipt that showed the MSRP and the invoice of the car I was looking at, and we discussed the pricing from invoice just like that. I have never seen a salesman be that honest and straightforward. He was no pressure at all. At every turn he always asked if I had question or if I wanted to come back another time. I ended up buying the car that day, because I was so satisfied: the car felt great, Jose's manner and honesty and straightforwardness were amazing, and I couldn't say no to an amazing deal. Jose is extremely knowledgeable about VW cars. He is a friendly and polite and accommodating salesman. He answered all of my questions, and even after I bought the car, he always made sure that I was satisfied and happy with the car. I was honestly concerned about how my experience might be at Boston VW, just because many other dealerrater.com reviews were negative. I'm not sure what went wrong for those other people, because I've never had such a positive, straightforward, no-brainer, and honestly kinda fun, car buying experience. After all of that, I felt compelled to write a good review so people could know. I have a very limited experience with the service department, but it was great: the day I picked up the car, the registration and inspection weren't ready, so Jose said just come back tomorrow night. I emailed him that night and asked if noon would be OK. He got back to me at 11:30 the next day and told me the registration was ready. I brought my new car into the service bay and left the key with Jose. He got service to do the inspection. Service looked busy that day (the lounge had 4-5 people, the parking spots inside were all full once I got in). I waited around for maybe 15-20 minutes, and Jose came by to check on me. He said he'd get the car going right away. I think maybe 5, 10 minutes max passed, and he came back and had the car ready. I'm looking forward to getting my car serviced at this dealership; if the service department is as good as the sales department, this place might as well be golden. I do hope the WiFi lounge will be working. (My iPhone didn't detect any WiFi when I looked.) Other notes: Chris, finance guy, really nice, really straightforward. Mike, another sales guy, really nice to talk with. I had met him years prior when deciding between a BMW and VW convertible. He took the time to show me everything he knew about the VW convertible. I forget the manager's name I met, but he was nice too. If you're looking to buy a new VW, I highly recommend going to Boston VW and meeting with Jose. More
