Ford Explorer warranty work Made arrangements to bring my car in after it was diagnosed with a computer problem. confirmed my repair appointment. Arranged a ride to work and back Made arrangements to bring my car in after it was diagnosed with a computer problem. confirmed my repair appointment. Arranged a ride to work and back. Got a call 2 hours after dropping it off that the part that they needed to fix my car was sent back to Ford. I now have to do this all over again next week? my time is valuable. If you say you have the part and are ready to fix it....be ready to fix it! I also ONLY bring my vehicle in for warranty repairs because they always tell me that there are additional repairs needed and when I take it to my personal mechanic he disagrees. Has happened multiple times! I bought this vehicle at another dealership for this reason! More

Tried to Sell Me a $15k engine for a $430 Fix At Metro Ford Absolute nightmare experience with service, I will not be back and I do not recommend that you choose this dealer for your service needs. Backgrou Absolute nightmare experience with service, I will not be back and I do not recommend that you choose this dealer for your service needs. Background: I've been having a weird issue with my 2013 Ford Taurus SHO with my "low oil pressure light" coming on intermittently at idle when warm. Took it to multiple shops and finally cracked and took it to this dealer. I would have been better off taking it to Stevie Wonder to look at, he could have diagnosed the car better than these guys. Dropped it off around 2 pm and was told that they would "do a bunch of diagnostic tests and find out exactly what the problem was". Wonderful, that's why I go to a dealer. Fast forward to noon the next day and I get a call from the service tech that I was working with that the engine was perfectly healthy and that the only thing they could think of was to change the oil to a higher weight (10w30). They told me that 10w30 would likely fix my issue, so I told them to drain my oil (that I just got changed last week) and asked them to keep the "old" oil and put it back into jugs, since it only had about 150 miles on it. They did not do so. I told them that I had a brand new Motorcraft filter in my backseat (FL-500s, the one for my car) so they didn't need to charge me for a new filter. They did anyway. When I asked on the phone about the cost of the oil change, they said "$45". I asked "Does that include labor" and they said "Yes". It did not. They charged me ~$70 for an oil change. Drove my car away from the dealer after paying $180 and was greeted, 4 minutes later, with the same low oil pressure light. They didn't even drive the car before they gave it back to me. I paid $180 for someone to throw away my new oil and to house my car for 24 hours. When I called back and told them that the light was coming on again, Kolton said "Well, nothing we can do, looks like you need a whole new engine. That will be $10,000 without labor". Um, back up a second: they just told me that there were no problems with my engine. I've had my oil pump tested and know it isn't anywhere near failing, and that it slightly drops below minimum spec for a few milliseconds, so I said "I don't need a new engine. Can you give me a quote for a new oil pump?". Kolton's response? "Nope, you need a new long block. $10k". Now I knew that there was something going on, because I called a CHEVY dealership and they quoted me $1,100. Called a different Ford Dealership and they quoted me $1,200. Told that to Blue Springs Ford and their answer was still: We won't do that work, pay up for a new engine or go away. Asked to talk to the technician and was denied. Called Metro Ford and gave them the full background to my frustration. Their response? "Bring it in now, we have a spot in our service bay reserved for you".Took my car to Metro Ford and they (the technician Caleb) found my problem in 15 minutes; there was oil in the wires that went to the oil pressure sensor. What did Metro do? Brought me out to the shop, showed me the oil in the wires, explained why that would be causing my issue. It wasn't even hard to see, it was in plain sight. They asked me if I'd like to go ahead and do the repair, to which I said "Yes". Fast forward 2.5 hours, I'm ready to leave. My bill was $485 but since they knew the frustration that I'd been going through with this car and how Blue Springs Ford treated me, they knocked my bill down to $430. That's customer service. Fixed my problem too. Not only did I have a disastrous experience with Blue Springs Ford the first time, when I went back the second time to get some of my money back and demanded to speak with a service manager, I was treated like xxxx by him. Jim Howard asked me "What do I have to do to get you out of my office?"; he did not want to help or resolve an issue, he wanted to get back to his important duties of sipping coffee and ripping off customers. I came in and asked for a service manager patiently, waited a couple minutes, and then asked if he wanted to go into his office so that we wouldn't bother other customers. Treated him with respect only to have him turn around and treat me like garbage. A rabid squirrel would be better at a customer facing job than Jim Howard. The worst experience I have ever had at a dealership by far, there are not enough bad reviews that I can write for something like this. They put the "steal" in "stealership". TL;DR: Blue Springs Ford tried to sell me a $10k engine with $3-5k labor cost for a problem that cost me $430 to fix at Metro Ford on Noland Road. Save your money, save your time: go to Metro Ford and skip these guys. They might be great to buy a car from, but take your car in for out-of-warranty service and they're going to screw you. More
