Warning after seeing other reviews on here! Steve Padgett’s Honda sold me a car knowing all my family had been through and the car was a complete lemon. I urge anyone to look elsewhere before going to this dealership. My kids and I had been through horrible tragedy in 2019 leaving us with no car , no home and i had fallen apart after burying my youngest daughter. My kids and I walked for three years until I went to this dealership in 2022 and thought they were so great because they got me in a car. They didn’t even want me to get the much cheaper car that I wanted online and convinced me that they had qualified me for a much nicer car. I was thrilled and so excited and my kids were as well because all we had been through. I was finally even repairing my credit and things were looking up for us. The first night I had the car I was so excited and proud only for two days later the lights to come on and the car to begin jerking. I immediately called into the dealership only to be told I was getting a “favor” to bring the car back in. I had only had the car about 48 hours and had paid 12,000 dollars because they had refused to sell me the car that was 5,500 because they did not want to sell a car that could have problems and look bad on the dealership. That last sentence was actually said to me by the salesperson. The first time in service they replaced the catalytic converter and did not charge me so I thought it was an honest mistake now made right even though they were “doing me a favor” I haven’t even began to stress the texts I was receiving from the finance department about getting paperwork there. “Get here now” Get it done” these are all text I still have on my phone to this very day. All in response to me explaining I was down sick and would be by as soon as possible. I saved these text because they were so unreal. Back to the car, I had it out of service for about one week when the car began to rattle again and at this point I was mad. I called the dealership AGAIN and was told that I could bring it back in and it sat until I got a call they couldn’t basically do anything and it needed to go to a Chevrolet dealer. I called Chevrolet dealers around town and found it odd the one dealership in town did not want to work on my car after they heard where I had purchased it and the warranty they had sold me. I was confused but called the GM at Honda and that’s when I realized this would be a nightmare. He basically told me “f&@$ the Chevrolet dealership here and ask me what I really wanted him to do. He was not that kind to me but did offer to pay one months car payment since I wasn’t even able to drive my 12,000 dollar car I just bought. The service deptartment at Honda recommended I call IMPEX in Reidsville , NC and get my car towed there and I did that asap. Well, finally I had answers. IMPEX called me only to let me know the car had a failed engine. Now , the car I am paying monthly for has sat in NC for two months now and me and my kids are walking while paying $350 a month on a car payment. It is absolutely absurd what they have put me through and when I called back I’m to tell the GM of Honda the engine failed he assured me warranty would pay and that’s why I got warranty. Well, here I am two and a half months later with no car because warranty will only pay the resale value of 5,300 on the 12,000 car I just bought and the total repair cost is 8,350. That speaks volume itself. It is all wrong and I’m sitting here in a horrible position and nobody at Honda will do a thing to help me out. I’m fact my calls are getting passed around and it’s become ridiculous. The only one at Honda that’s even expressed concern and an apology was the sweet young lady that answers the phone.. I am now in a position where I may have to let my car go and have a bill with IMPEX and bad credit AGAIN and have no chance of buying a car anytime soon. It’s just beyond me that anyone could do this to any person and knowing they had known the tragedy I had been through is what really broke my heart. I tried hard to give them the benefit of the doubt calling many times asking for help but to this dealership if you make the mistake of paying 12,000 for a bad engine, we’ll basically, you’re just out of luck. Please, do not spend your hard earned money here. Sure, you may get lucky and get a good car but if you have one that’s not running right as soon as you purchase they will not do a thing to help you. I’m actually shocked they ask me to be sure and review them online after purchase because this is my review. I regret the business I sent there way the first night I had purchased and posted on social media. Hundreds of people were so excited and happy for me and the kids and this exploded in my face. Please go elsewhere. Like I said, I called and tried to ask them to do the right thing but like I said they just figure I bought what I bought. Beware! More
