Very typical big city dealership. I have purchased 25 vehicles, 4 side by sides, 7 motorcycles and 3 boast in my life so i know a hustler when i see them most of the time. Tell you one thing on the phon vehicles, 4 side by sides, 7 motorcycles and 3 boast in my life so i know a hustler when i see them most of the time. Tell you one thing on the phone only to change the story when you get there. I have no problem telling my story. Its not slander its the truth. I was told that 1995 Jeep Wranglers with 126,000 miles would only sell for $1000.00 so thats all they offered for my trade. Brand new lift kit,BF Goodrich TA tires, winch, metal flat fenders. This jeep was slick, its not worth a ton but i told them several times “$1000.00 is offensive stop treating me like I'm ignorant. We’re not trading for that” its one thing to make money its completely different to tell someone garbage like that. I wouldn’t have wrote the review if you hadn’t asked what i thought but because you asked. We ended up trading but it was an extreme amount more than the $1000.00 originally offered. More
You're about to hear a story of an honest car dealer, which, after my journey, I was beginning to think was going to be impossible to find. I was not planning to purchase a car for about two more years. which, after my journey, I was beginning to think was going to be impossible to find. I was not planning to purchase a car for about two more years. While I loved the idea, I don't like car payments one bit. I owned my old Toyota, but after doing a park and fly, I found it stolen due to a hotel's negligence. The police recovered it, but it stank--and some other stuff. So those two years became two weeks ago. I waited two weeks to write this review to let the "new car high" wear off. I have not been disappointed. This story could be longer than it is, but as condensed as possible, I will say that though I live in Lawton, I shopped everywhere, and I priced Tucsons from Tulsa to San Antonio. Initially I priced through the True Car program to see what deals were available at first--until I found out how misleading it could be (by offering every single discount someone could qualify for--"are you a recently graduated first responder who is in the military who qualifies for the mobility discount, ma'am?" one asked me!). None of the pricing I was getting was accurate. One guy in Tulsa refused to tell me a price, another in OKC was so rude I wondered how he made a living in sales! Once I had realized it would actually be more affordable to purchase new than used with low mileage, I took care of financing through my credit union and made it clear to everyone to whom I inquired I was ready to buy, and still got lies and curt treatment. I was stunned, to be frank. One of the reasons I did not come directly to Billingsley is simply that the car I wanted was not in stock. But after dealing with every bad television stereotype of a car dealer there was, I emailed Billingsley one evening, quite weary. I told them I wanted it straight, and didn't want any of the fake pricing junk. Adam replied and seemed to be very honest. Before I could reply to his last question, I decided to just show up instead, so I got in my car and drove over there. He wasn't expecting me so he was away from his desk for a bit, but Peyton wasn't. And this was a key to Adam's sale. She happily searched for him, made sure he was on his way, then offered to help get me started. I told her I had been shopping for a Tucson, and looking through True Car, but it seemed like the pricing I was getting was lies. She didn't mess around for a second and told me, "to be honest with you, it probably is--they put everything in there to show the lowest price but people don't qualify for all of that most of the time." That was the first honest line I had gotten from anyone in all of these days. That kept me in the door. She asked me for some information so I didn't have to just sit around waiting for Adam, but made sure she didn't enter anything officially because "since you're Adam's customer, I don't want to mess anything up for him." Those two acts from Peyton were key to my impression on Billingsley, and that should be noted. Adam himself did an outstanding job and worked so well with me. I had done all of my homework. I knew the value of my old car (and was given and incredibly fair trade in, considering it was a trade in and not private party sale, and had 186,000 miles on it), and I knew how much the car I wanted cost retail, how much the manufacturer's invoice was, even the holdback fee. I knew the color, the interior color, and wasn't bending. To me, if I was buying a new car, I wanted exactly what I had chosen, and the very best price possible. Adam was kind, friendly, honest, helpful, everything he could be and more. Ultimately, Natalie was the one who had to agree to the selling price (and trade in value) and she also dealt fairly and honestly with me. As a matter of fact, when they located the car that was a match to what I wanted, they had to have it brought to Lawton, so she offered me a loaner vehicle, another Tucson, so I actually never drove my old car back. She did this even before I had signed paperwork (though it should be noted, she had seen my approved financing paperwork from my credit union and taken my insurance information). The car they located had a few extra amenities I was not looking for, simply to keep the price a few hundred dollars lower--and they did not charge me. This review is lengthy, and the reason is to help anyone vacillating whether or not choosing Billingsley is a good idea or not to realize it is. Some people buy new cars regularly. I don't. I work for the state of Oklahoma and make a salary that would not make that a wise decision. I had not purchased a new vehicle--my last cars had been used Toyotas. This was a significant purchase for me. It's true that sometimes leaving Lawton nets us a better deal (perhaps when it comes to finding a better selection on groceries or more variety of certain items), but when it comes to any cars sold by Billingsley, please save yourself the hours and hours of stress--and constant harassment from big city dealers (I had to file a BBB complaint against one who would not stop personally emailing even after I had unsubscribed). I'm sure this is par for the course with them, but I received a letter in the mail the within the week I purchased my Tucson, signed by Grannon Billingsley, the general manager. A family business in a local community does make a difference, and in this case, it's made a positive difference. I couldn't have made a better choice. More
