Salesman -- Bob Fitzsimions was great, no pressure, knowledgeable and very helpful... More importantly I liked the way the Highlander handled and felt... and the price was right. We went to numerous dealers along the Rt 72 strip and tried a number of vehicles --some were OK, some were very good, but the Toyota Highlander topped the list. To date have put 100+ miles on it and very happy with how it handles -- and *** that feature for sharp turns and breaking is outstanding.... More
We were very happy and satisfied with all personnel that we were involved with during this purchase. We would definitely recommend this dealership to all. I also have to compliment the service department we were involved with during this purchase. We would definitely recommend this dealership to all. I also have to compliment the service department as well. We always took our previous car to the department and was extremely pleased. Far to often the car is sold and the service department then becomes the one and only, that can make or break a dealership. All persons listed above need to be complimented on their ability to be people oriented. The sales people knew there products well and were able to touble shoot any issue that came to pass. I liked the fact, that people were willing to step up and help even though it was not their customer. Promptness was also a plus. Pleasant Knowledgeable Courteous Serious when necessary Smiling Was able to respond positively with regard to any issues Thank-you for being "YOU" Harry and Linda Predmore 2013 Avalon Limited More
Having already done our homework on the internet, we already knew the cars we wanted to look at. We headed right over to where the bulk of the Highlanders were parked. Jim Kilgore came up to us within minutes of being on the lot. First impression: Professional yet easy going, the kind of guy you can really talk to. We told him what we had come to see and he took us right to them. Test drive went great, Jim was a wealth of knowledge. Got back to the lot, we were sold. Went inside, Jim offered us refreshments and we got down to business. Was not much to haggle about. We told Jim where we stood when we got there. He went back and within a few minutes came back with the offer we were looking for. Within a hour we drove away in our new Highlander. If you want a truly exceptional car buying experience drop by Bill Penney Toyota and ask for Jim Kilgore. You will not be sorry you did. More

I won't take my business back to Bill Penney Toyota, and I'd like to tell you why. Let us start off with the positives of my visit. The two salesmen with which I dealt, as well as the man with which and I'd like to tell you why. Let us start off with the positives of my visit. The two salesmen with which I dealt, as well as the man with which I made the final deal were very polite and knowledgeable about their products. The deal we agreed to was fair for both parties, and at that point my opinion of Bill Penney Toyota was favorable. Unfortunately, when working with the finance department my experience took a turn for the worse. To start, I was told I qualified for a 3.99% rate. (For those reading this in the future, at the current average rates and with even average credit, this is not a good offer.) I was told I'd agreed to this rate with my salesman, which was not the case. At that point I stood up to leave and visit my local credit union to get a better rate, and was then offered something slightly better. As it turns out, the rate I was offered wasn't the lowest rate I qualified for; in fact, I never received that rate. (This is unfortunate because I asked several times if this was the lowest rate I qualified for and was told yes.) I also noticed that my payments had been extended 3 months from the period I'd told the salesman I wanted. Upon looking further, I noticed an approximately $1500 charge had been added to my total. When I asked about this, I was told it was an extended service contract I was getting at a great price. At no point had I discussed this with my salesman or the finance agent; frankly I'm of the opinion that if I'd not noticed the charge and extension in payments I'd have never been told of their existence. (As an aside, I've seen that same maintenance contract offered by other dealers at $600 less. Great price it wasn't.) (As a second aside, I was told several times if I agreed to the $1500 maintenance plan, my finance rate would be significantly reduced.. probably to the rate for which I qualified.) Again the contract was modified, and the finance agent offered me a $170 tire warranty for "free." However, during the process my contract was _somehow_ changed again, and this time the trade-in price of my car was lowered $300. Thankfully I noticed that as well. At this point, I should have walked out. Unfortunately, I'd already signed a lot of papers and was unsure of the legality of simply walking out of the dealership. I hope if I had to do it over again, I'd walk out and let a lawyer take care of any issues with the signed paperwork. Their behavior is in my opinion unacceptable; consumers are more prepared and informed than ever, and that an individual tried to do these things is mind-boggling, especially in light of the PR nightmare Toyota had just a few years ago. I didn't walk out though, and ended up with a rate that was not great and vehicle I really hope I can enjoy. I will not be back to Bill Penney Toyota, though. If you're wondering if I spoke to a manager, I did. Unfortunately, he seemed very angry with me for even questioning his employees tactics, and I ended the conversation before bringing up the bulk of my complaints; I've learned over the years when someone is willing to listen and when someone is not. So my advice is for you to not visit Bill Penney Toyota. If you must, don't repeat my mistakes: bring your own financing. More

I wish there were a "neutral" choice here. But since there isn't, I'll go with the "No" option. Briefly, I purchased a 2011, Certified used vehicle here, and found out, after the truck was deliver since there isn't, I'll go with the "No" option. Briefly, I purchased a 2011, Certified used vehicle here, and found out, after the truck was delivered to my home, approximately 90 miles away, that there was no spare key, no spare remote door opener and no owners manual provided with it. The owners manual they did ultimately agree to send me, but only agreed to give a discount of the programming fees on the key. The cost of the spare key and remote was going to be roughly $160.00, and would involve my taking off from work and burning a half tank of gas to get there and back. To add insult to injury, I was told by "Cindy" the owners personal assistant, that both John Coldeway, and "Lee," the Used car sales manager had told her I had been told only one key and remote would be provided. I wish to state for the record that this is a bold face lie. Neither my wife nor I were at any point in the negotiations told only one key would be provided. My point here is, these keys and remotes are pricey. Always ask if both a key and a spare, plus 2 remotes are to be included. I hate to give these types of feedback, and would have been neutral had it been an option here, but it was not. The truck I love, and all involved parties were pleasant enough, I just feel a bit taken advantaged of due to the failure on the part of the dealership to notify me in advance of closing the deal that I was being shorted a key and opener.
