Service is Awful - Quality of Work is Horrible My latest experience with Bill Penney's service department will be my last. Arrived early for an 8 AM appointment for a tire rotation and to check a leak in a tire on my wife's car. After dropping the car off, I took my car to another dealership in town for an oil change and tire rotation. I arrived at the other dealership with no appointment and they took my car immediately in and completed this service plus a car wash and vacuum within an hour and a half. Went home and waited for 7 and a half hours to finally go back to Bill Penney and check on my wife's car. During the day I called 3 different times and left a message. I was never talked to nor was my message returned. When my wife and I arrived at the service department, we were told that her car had been "lost" in the lot. After a very insincere apology and management blaming the technicians for the failure, we waited until around the time that they closed to get the car back. The next morning, the tire light came back on. Not only did it take a full 8 hours to rotate the tires (incorrectly based on the new location of the leak) and attempt to patch a leak, but they were not able to actually get anything fixed. This is just the last in a series of incredibly poor service. This is currently the worst Toyota service department that I have ever worked with. We are done with Bill Penney. If regular customers continue to be treated this way, they will leave. As Huntsville grows, so will the competition and Bill Penney should not take business for granted. More
Service department management is absolutely horrible Probably one of the worst Toyota dealerships I have ever experienced. Especially the management in service. My job is to travel around and go to lots Probably one of the worst Toyota dealerships I have ever experienced. Especially the management in service. My job is to travel around and go to lots of different dealers for reviews on service so I have had experience at quite a few dealerships. The way I was treated here was shocking. I personally own and drive a Toyota and I'm so glad this isn't how my local Toyota dealership operates. Also in the service lanes there were technicians talking and walking around very unprofessionally. Extreme vulgar language with quite a few kids around was sickening. But on the other note I was in for just a basic oil change service that took almost 3 hours to complete which I was completely patient about. It was just giving me time to get my review prepped. The two times I asked about my vehicle I got told to hold on both times while phone calls were being made back to back. Of course I was told management was too busy at the time to even speak to about my issues. Which is ridiculous being a paying customer. I won't be back and I'm sure this place could care less especially by the way I was treated. If I would have heard the language and how these "technicians" were carrying themselves I would have never signed the paper to have them even touch my car. Unbelievable garbage service. More
Service department is a joke I tried to get service after I bought a 2018 Toyota corolla. This was a certified vehicle with Toyota care and i had to but Penney Perks. This was s I tried to get service after I bought a 2018 Toyota corolla. This was a certified vehicle with Toyota care and i had to but Penney Perks. This was supposed to be a free service in order to make me a customer of their service department. First, I attempted of call and make an appointment. They told me just to come in. So, I tried that. I pulled into the lane I was directed to, and was ignored for about 15 minutes while standing next to my car while people were seen who pulled in behind me. So, I stepped into the service department office and was again ignored for at least another 15 minutes. During this time, they moved my car without even talking to me, much less asking me. The only time I was acknowledged was when I had to move out of another customers way when they came in after me and was seen before me. This is while several service advisors were texting and not with any customers. When I was finally seen, it went fine, but it was rediculous and made me angry that other people walked up and we're acknowledged and helped before I was when they arrived after me. If it weren't for Douglas and Libby finally recognizing that there was a human being standing right in front of them, I might have stood there all day. I mean someone had the nerve to move my car out of the way. Right?!?!?! The point is, although they did a good job with the service, they are terribly managed or not managed at all. I would avoid going there if you value your time and expect to be seen in the order.I which you arrived. More
BILL PENNEY SOLD US A LEMON BILL PENNEY TOYOTA OF HUNTSVILLE SOLD MY WIFE AND I A LEMON. My wife and I purchased a new 2018 Toyota 4Runner off of Bill Penney's lot Oct 2018 with BILL PENNEY TOYOTA OF HUNTSVILLE SOLD MY WIFE AND I A LEMON. My wife and I purchased a new 2018 Toyota 4Runner off of Bill Penney's lot Oct 2018 with automatic running boards. Shortly after our purchase we started noticing that the automatic running boards would deploy and/or retract randomly. We took it into Bill Penney numerous times to fix and they finally replaced the ECU. After "the fix" the running boards were still having issues with randomly deploying and/or retracting. We went to Bill Penney for them to replace our vehicle with another one with static running boards because it was not only a huge safety issue for us, but they also sold us a lemon. After doing extensive research on the Internet we found out that 2012-2017 Toyota 4Runners with automatic running boards had issues with randomly deploying and retracting. In fact it was so bad Toyota issued a Technical Service Bulletin or T.S.B. to remove and replace the ECU unit. Bill Penney sold us a lemon and would not do anything to fairly resolve this issue even though it is a huge safety issue to us. We are going to the Alabama Attorney General and present our case concerning the Alabama Lemon law. If this review had an option for zero stars we would pick that one instead of the one star. Please beware of Bill Penney Toyota, the New Car Manager stated to us during our visit to try and replace with another 4Runner and I quote "We don't build the car". This is like saying that Toyota builds the cars and Bill Penney sells them, but Bill Penney does not have any accountability after the sell. Stay away from Bill Penney!! More
Lie is their motto. I would advise you never to mess with these people. Just better stay away from Bill Penney Toyota. I tried. Now I am crying after their service. They misdiagnosed and incorrectly replaced an extremely expensive part on my car and then gave me the car back still broken. When I brought the car back they lied and wanted more money to fix the part that was actually broken in the first place. Their sales department does not come through on their deals and neither department returns phone calls. Our sales person was nice and did a good job showing us cars. I was always kind and tried to handle my issues with them directly but after their avoidance of my phone calls I have decided to make my experience public for the benefit of others considering doing business with Bill Penny Toyota. They will steal your money and not return your phone calls. I do not recommend doing business with this sales department or service department. More

Car recalls We took our perfectly running Toyota Matfix into Bill Penny dealership to have two recalls done per Toyota at no cost to us. When we picked up the car We took our perfectly running Toyota Matfix into Bill Penny dealership to have two recalls done per Toyota at no cost to us. When we picked up the car it was idling low. We reported this to the dealership and were told they could run a diagnostic test on it for a $65.00 charge. We declined because I feel it was a return business scam. I do not recommend this dealership to anyone. More

They appraised my trade in at less than half of its value (based on KBB and offers from other dealerships). I don't mind a low-ball offer, but they tried to convince me it was a good deal by showing me a print out from KBB.com. When I looked closely, I noticed that they entered incorrect information on the website to get the cheapest value possible (the trim line, engine, and transmission were all wrong and they selected no options and the worst condition). If I hadn't done my research in advance, I might have believed them. I was also not a fan of the high pressure negotiating tactics. They tried to get me to buy a car on the spot even after I told them multiple times I wouldn't buy that day. The car they were trying to sell me wasn't even on the lot yet. They held on to my keys as long as they could to keep me from leaving. The salesman also kept showing me payment options while refusing to tell me what the A.P.R. used to calculate them was. Bill Penney was also the only dealership I visited that didn't seem to know what cars they had on their lot. I walked in knowing exactly what model and trim line I was interested in, but we had to walk the lot reading window stickers to find one. More
