Bill Kolb Jr Subaru came highly recommended from a coworker whose wife purchased 2 vehicles here. Having salaried salespeople vs commission-based immediately calms any angst you have walking in the door. The rest of the experience is up to the salespeople. Enter Rafael Rosario. I came into the dealership honed in on a used Impreza hatchback and left with a brand new Crosstrek. How? because Rafael very carefully and patiently listened to why I was there, what my thoughts were on Subaru's different models, and finally purchasing versus leasing. And then he answered every one of my questions, with honesty and confidence. There was no pressure, no sales pitch, just detail and reassurance that I fully understood all of my options. Terrific experience across the board, and I plan on recommending both BK Subaru and Rafael to anyone I run into looking to purchase hassle-free. Thanks again! More
Sales and service In 2006 I bought a new Subaru Tribeca's from this dealership because they didn't try to hustle us like other dealers did. The following year, I traded it in for a newer model because the initial deal offered was excellent. However, during the actual transaction, the manager subtracted several hundreds of dollars for several minor items on the trade-in vehicle right before I was to sign the sale and purchase documents, which I thought was very petty. I didn't argue or haggle because I liked the other people, including the friendly owners, at the dealership. If it wasn't for this incident, I would give it a 5 star rating for price. Both vehicles have only serviced by this dealership even though its inconviently located from my residence. Service personnel have always been very professional, friendly and offer advise on how to save money on maintenance. But their workmanship in the past 2 years has deteriorated noticably, which is very unfortunate. Even after bringing this to the notice of the managers, there has been only minor improvement. They replaced my suspension about a year ago, which lead to very strange consequences- the dealership has not fixed it even though I took the vehicle in several times since. This is why the quality of work rating is only fair. Other than that, I would give it a 5+ star rating. More

I had already made the decision that I was going to buy the 2015 Out Everyone at Bill Kolb Subaru is very friendly and certainly knows their product. I had already made the decision that I was going to buy the 2015 Outback so it was just a matter of picking the trim level and then determining the price. Stuart was very familiar with the trim levels and options and helped guide me in the options that were practical and "worth the money". At the time that I first went in (December 2014) there was a 10-12 week wait for the delivery of a new 2015 Outback. Even though it ended up taking the full 12 weeks until the car was delivered (certainly not the dealership's fault), Stuart stayed in touch and gave me updates when he had them. When it comes to price, Bill Kolb's no haggle pricing is both a relief and a disappointment. They pride themselves on providing a "fair" deal to both the consumer and the dealer, and I would say that is definitely true. I should add that when I first came in to put down a deposit on the vehicle I had my trade-in valued as well. All the paperwork was written up with that value, even though they were very upfront that they would have to re-evaluate the car when I actually came back to pick up the new car and trade the old one in. Of course I was concerned that I'd come back and get told that now they could only give me half of what they had offered, and I would have to haggle just to get close to the original number... but even though I put another 4k miles on the car (admittedly having had to replace 2 wheel bearings in the time period) they ended up honoring the price they offered me originally. Was definitely a pleasant experience. So, in summary if you're the kind of person who wants to haggle the heck out of the price and make sure you squeeze every last penny to get below invoice pricing, then this is not the dealer for you. If you want to get a fair deal (typically several hundred bucks over invoice), get treated like a human being by a knowledgeable and sophisticated salesperson, and leave the dealership not feeling like you need a shower, then I certainly recommend Bill Kolb Subaru, and Stuart in particular. Awesome car buying experience. Recently bought my 2015 Subaru WRX from here. We were acknowledged upon arrival, but being a Saturday, it was busy so we had to wait a couple minutes to be helped. We were met by a 'new' employee, Larry, who explained he was not a salesman yet. Regardless of this fact, he was very knowledgeable about the cars and being a SUBARU owner, helped me make my decision to buy the WRX. Additionally, I brought a Capital One Blank Check, to use to purchase my car. The finance manager looked at it and guaranteed that they would beat the interest rate. I was hesitant to have another inquiry added to my credit, but I took his word and sure enough they beat it. Couldn't have asked for a better car buying experience. More

Bill Kolb fixed a really bad situation and was always keeping me in the loop on the status of my vehicles repair. I HIGHLY recommend you visit Bill Kolb for service and strongly urge you to avoid Smith Cairins in Yonkers. More
