I purchased a 2008 Toyota Camry from Bill Gatton Madza on Saturday June 30th 2012. I told them I had $4500 to put down. They never asked me for my down payment that day. I left with the car without giving a Saturday June 30th 2012. I told them I had $4500 to put down. They never asked me for my down payment that day. I left with the car without giving a down payment, proof of employment or proof of income. It has now been 18 days since my purchase. Out of the last 18 days the car has only been with me for 6 days. The other 12 days it has been in Bill Gatton's service department. I was told when I purchased the car that the "check engine light" was on because they just changed the oil and had not reset the light. I was told it would be reset and it was. The car was also pulling to the right and left. I was told they would not align the car that I had to do this on my own. Before I go home the light came on again. I stopped at O'Reillys Auto Parts to have the light check. It stated it the O2 sensor need to be changed. Monday July 2nd I returned to Bill Gatton to let them know what I have discovered & to give them my proof of income and employment. They said Jason Nave had already gone home for the day and they would have him call me the next day. They asked me if I had the $4500 down payment. I told them I would give them the money once the car was fixed as promised. I finally get a call from Jason on July 5th. Jason told me to bring the car to him on Monday July 9th and they would check the car so I did. So on Monday July 9th they took the car, gave me a 2009 Honda Accord to drive and said they would call when my car was fixed. Wednesday July 11th Wayne Warren my salesman called to say the car was ready. I go over there after work that day. I was greeted in the parking lot by Wayne and Brain Hunt the Service Department manager and they told me my car was not ready and they had to order a part that would not be there for a couple of days. I was so frustrated at this point, a 30 minuet trip to Bristol again for nothing. Wayne as asked me for the $4500 down payment again. I said “Wayne I told you I would give it to you once the car is fixed & don’t ask me again for it”. I told Brian I had an align appointment with Hayworth Tire the next day. Brain told me they would align my car for $89.99. I said "NO WAY"! Hayworth only charges $39.99. He said they would match that price...so I left with the Accord again. Monday July 16th I call the Service Department to see if my car was fixed. I was told no but it will be today and to come by at 5:30pm to pick it up. I call back at 4:30pm to make sure it was ready before I wasted more of my time. I was place on hold 3 times for a total of approx. 10 minuets. The man apologized and said "Mr. Holly and I making sure absolutely sure it is ready before you come out her again." He then stated it was ready and to come puck it up. I get there and the car is setting in the parking lot with an orange tag hanging form the review mirror. I went in to get my keys and Wayne said they need the down payment so my loan would be approved. I said Wayne you don’t have to lie to me. I already have the registration & tags that were mailed to me. Also the bank has called me thanking me for my business & sent me a welcome letter. The loan is approved”. He said “oh” with a dumb look on his face. I said I will give you the down payment but I want a receipt. He said ok had me the cash and I will go next door to get the receipt. I said no way. I will go next door with you. Then the new car manager came over and said Wayne you cant take cash from a customer. He has to go with you. I leave with Wayne to get my receipt. The lady at the counter hand wrights a receipt and hands it to me. I asked to have the service records for what had been done to my car. Wayne says “I figured that since we were paying for it you wouldn’t need that”. I said I need that to prove you fixed my car. The lady behind the counter says she cant find any service records on my car. (RED FLAG) I said great now you have my down payment and I don’t have any record my car is fixed. I leave with Wayne to go back to his office. He get’s Mark Ratliff and he cant find any paper work either. They said Brian Hunt left to go to a funeral. I was boiling with madness at this point. I said I am going out to get my car and it better be fixed. I start the car and first thing I see is the check engine light is still on. I was furious. I walked back into the dealership and slammed my keys on the counter and ask why the check engine light was still on. Wayne and Mark gave me a dumb look and said they didn’t know why. The also said Brain left to go to a funeral. I stated to this was ridiculous. They told me to take the Accord back and they would have Brain call me tomorrow morning first thing. The next morning (July 17th) of course Brian doesn’t call so I call him. He assured me the car would be fixed and he would call me and I quote "treat my car like a family member in surgery" by calling me every so often to give me a report. The next day July 18th, still no call so I called Brian to see when we stood on the car. He said he sent it to the Toyota dealership. I said "why"? He said they could not find out why the light was on and as soon as the Toyota Service Department called him he'd call me. Now here I sit July 19th 1:31pm and still no call. Worst experience ever buying a car for me. More
I was checking out a vehicle that they were pulling out of the show room when they were rotating their stock on the lot for a friend. The entire staff was great. Not pushy at all and I ended up leaving the of the show room when they were rotating their stock on the lot for a friend. The entire staff was great. Not pushy at all and I ended up leaving the lot with my new vehicle. It has to be hands down the best car buying experience I have had. More
