We apologize that the body shop (an outside party) has not been able to meet the time commitments that they made to all of us. Like you, we are also disturbed that deadlines have been missed. Mr. Wittwer, I am truly saddended that you feel that we would 'retaliate' for sharing your opinion of me. The reason for the cancellation is that our entire service department computer system is down until futher notice. Everyone's appointment has been cancelled, not just your relative. As I explained, we do not have a body shop, so the required bodywork was sublet to a third party. I wish we had more control over the speed of the body shop, the wait for parts, and availability of additional loaner cars, but we do not. To begin, we apologize if we failed to properly communicate Hyundai's complimentary maintenance program. It provides for complimentary oil change intervals based on normal driving conditions as outlined in the vehicle owners' manual. Houston is considered an extreme driving climate, which means your next oil change will be complimentary under the Hyundai guidelines. Regarding the extra time required for your visit, your reservation was for oil change only. Additional services beyond the oil change added at the time of the visit require additional time. I was contacted by Mr. Joe Mayhew of Big Star in regards to my previous rating. After explaining my position he replied that yes he could see why after making his own appointment through the webpage I would assume that the oil change was going to be $39. He is going to talk to his webpage page and make adjustments/changes. He offered to do my oil change for the $39 price but I told him that I had already had it done. He then told me he would do my next change for that price. For his quick response to my problem I am raising my rating to a 4 star. His response was a 5 but my dealings with the employees that day still upset me. Thank you Joe.

Mark, we are terribly sorry to hear about this. While we do charge diagnostic fee to diagnose certain repairs, we would never charge one to perform an aftermarket equipment installation.
