I purchased a CPO 2017 Porsche (911 Carrera 4 GTS) from Bert Smith Porsche and had an extremely positive experience. I live 3,200 miles away in Seattle and had been looking for a CPO 911 when I came across Bert Smith Porsche and had an extremely positive experience. I live 3,200 miles away in Seattle and had been looking for a CPO 911 when I came across one at Bert Smith. When I contacted the dealership, Greg the sales manager answered all my questions. After some back and forth, I made an offer. We had some more back and forth and arrived at what I felt was a reasonable price. I indicated that I was prepared to fly out immediately to test drive the car and purchase it if everything looked good. I didn’t want to go to the trouble of flying out, however, if there was a chance the car could be sold before I had a chance to check it out. Greg said they would not sell the car to anyone else until I had a chance to test it and make a decision. I offered to make a refundable down payment to hold the car, but Greg said this wasn’t necessary since I would be flying out the next day. I bought my plane ticket to fly out the next day (a Sunday) so I could be at the dealership first thing Monday morning. After buying my ticket, however, I learned that my credit union (and all credit unions) were going to be closed on Monday for the Columbus Day holiday so I wouldn’t be able to do a wire transfer for a purchase on Monday. I texted Greg to advise that I now wouldn’t be able to purchase the car till Tuesday and asked if he would hold the car till then. He told me not to worry, he wouldn’t sell the car to anyone else before then, and the car was mine if I wanted it. From this point forward I dealt with Rhett, who was also excellent to work with. I test drove the car on Monday and loved it. It had under 6,000 miles on it and appeared to be in pristine condition. Nevertheless, I said I wanted an independent PPI prior to purchasing the car, and Rhett readily agreed for me to have a PPI done by anyone I desired. I was able to have a PPI done Tuesday morning by an independent company that services Porsches and has Porsche-certified mechanics, and the owner of the inspection company said the car was in perfect condition and virtually brand new. He said the only thing I might consider is having one of the rear tires replaced because its tread was getting down close to 50% (the other rear tire was brand new). I told Rhett that I was prepared to purchase the car and that my one request was for a new rear tire. He spoke to Greg and they agreed to replace it even though their service department estimated there was 70% tread left on it. I finalized the transaction through my credit union and drove the car off the lot at 2:00 pm on Tuesday—beginning a three-day, incident-free, 3,200 mile drive back to Seattle. I love the car and was so pleasantly surprised by the easy-going, super-accommodating, and zero-pressure sales experience with Greg and Rhett at Bert Smith Porsche. I have never had such a pleasant and positive car-buying experience in my entire life. More
