I had an issue with my Brand New Honda (warranty work) and brought it to Travis. He had to order a part that and needed my car for a week. During that week my car was left outside of the Paint Booth at t and brought it to Travis. He had to order a part that and needed my car for a week. During that week my car was left outside of the Paint Booth at the Auto Body Center and had a thick layer of OVERSPRAY all over it. I didn't get a mile from the dealership when I realized I couldn' see out the window (obviously no Quality Check on my vehicle prior to me picking it up) so I brought it back and they "detailed" it to see if they could buff out the overspray. Went to pick it up and Travis pointed me to it, went out there and still had tons of overspray all over it....SO brought it back again...this time I went to pick it up and Travis was gone so I went to Bobby who was really apologetic and came out and said that they didn't get it all...AGAIN and he was pretty disappointed in them. I had to (for the 4rth time) be without a car, spend my fourth day driving to/from a dealership, late to work, leaving early from work to pick up my car etc. etc. all because of something that should've never happened. Bobby was great, had my car detailed and got the majority of the overspray off. I just wonder what kind of Quality Control procedures they go through there having to bring in my car 4 times! So frustrating. Now, when my car sits in the sun...it looks like a lightweight sandpaper ran in circles across my brand new car's paint trying to rubb off all of the overspray. And this whole ordeal was sparked by replacing a part and needing my vehicle for a week...and that part didn't even fix what was wrong as it turns out. More

An Afternoon with Free Entertainment that turned into a Nightmare At Bell Honda Phoenix, Arizona On October 6, 2010, I received a phone call on my home phone from Bell Honda. The call message Nightmare At Bell Honda Phoenix, Arizona On October 6, 2010, I received a phone call on my home phone from Bell Honda. The call message stated they wanted to speak to me and the sales representative left his name and number to return the call. Out of curiosity, I return the call in the afternoon after my workday. The receptionist was very nice on the phone and sent my call to Ramsey the salesperson, he quickly answered the call, and I proceeded to ask him why he called me because I had not inquired about a new car. He simply stated he was calling about a new program to help people with recent BK’s buy cars and reestablish their credit. I told Ramsey, I did not like the car I had but I was not interested in a Honda with a chuckle Ramsey stated he could help me with the Ford I was inquiring about. He then stated if I could come to the dealership he would work with me and see if Bell Honda could get me out of my current “Grandma looking car” which 2005 Ford Taurus champagne colored vehicle that I very much disliked. (This car would not be used as a trade-in) I made an appointment with Ramsey on Friday October 8, 2010 that is when my free entertainment began. As I drove up to the dealership, a nice man greeted me when I exited my car and said, “Welcome to Bell Honda can I help you”. I stated I had an appointment with Ramsey and the nice man took me inside and had him paged. I thanked him for his help and my boyfriend and I waited a couple of minutes for Ramsey to arrive. When he arrived, he seated us at a computer area and his computer was broken so we moved to the next cube. I was staring to feel like I was in “Office Space” (a movie) the chairs were very nice and comfortable and Ramsey asked if we needed anything to drink. We declined as I had my own water with me. When we settled in, Ramsey’s supervisor Frank came and spoke with me regarding the program and how it works and what was expected of me. The did the usual things like run credit, look at financial situation, and what the banks would lend a person like me in this situation. This took place before we even looked at cars. I found this very nice because I would not want to look at cars only to know I could not have one. After a little time it was determined what amount, I could spend on a car and the supervisor said they had one that was perfect for my needs and the needs of the lender. After the amounts and numbers were discussed, we went to look at the SUV. I was a little hesitant because it was not a Ford as I had hoped. (See, I feel since the government bailed out the automakers and if I buy a car from those automakers, I would be paying twice for the new car so I wanted a Ford not a Honda). The vehicle they brought me to look at was a Pontiac Torrent a nice SUV small and just what I needed since it was a GM and they paid back their note to the government I decided I could buy that without feeling as if I was robbed. We took the SUV out for spin and I absolutely loved the Torrent. It had everything I wanted and needed in a vehicle it was perfect and a payment I could live with. Then we were relocated once again to another chair. It felt like we were progressing to the back of the showroom. The 3rd sets of chairs were not as comfortable as the first chairs but it was tolerable. Then the start of the numbers game and I was not looking forward to this part but it had to be done. Since I have purchased a car before I knew this was coming and was not a surprise at all but it was cumbersome to say the leased. I told them right up front what I could afford as a payment and could not and would not be able to deviate from that plan; they seemed to understand and did not waver. Then the supervisor stated “ you have to ring the bell “ I said what are you talking about “ its Bell Honda and you just bought a car and you get to ring the bell” I had no clue this bell was so loud I felt so bad for the women sitting next to it as I turned the handle. I thought she was going to fall out of the seat she was in such shock over the loudness of the bell. Maybe, it would be nice to warn people sitting next to the bell before it is going to be rung. After the bell ceremony, we were moved to “storage room B “at least that is how we felt. The finance area we were placed resembled the waiting area of DMV with two rows of chairs facing each other with the one row by the wall over looking view of the bathrooms. It was very obvious it was dress down Friday for some of the staff because the attire was less then desirable. One man had on a dark polo shirt with camo shorts with tennis shoes not sure of his job title but he was loud and was up and down the hall several times and kept going in the little office in the area. Each time he went up the hall it was comical he was having a very good day and very happy. The women were in flip-flops and each girl came through there flopping all the way down the hall. The best entertainment came a little bit later. While sitting there which seemed like forever ( but actually not to long) a man with dark hair, a blue polo shirt, and black slacks came up the hall in front of me and was very obviously grabbing and adjusting his xxxxx. I thought I was going to die right there in the hard chairs! I looked at my boyfriend in utter shock from what I had just seen only 10 feet from the men’s room where he could have done that in a private area. I know sometimes personal things need to be taken care of but come on; there was a men’s room right there he could have slipped into to care for his personal needs. The next situation was interesting as well and I knew right then I was getting my free entertainment for the day. Still residing in “storage room B “ another man came down the hall with kaki slacks, polo shirt with a pen in his hand then as he walked under the fire sprinkler he stuck the pen right up in the system! I thought oh my goodness this did not just happen! I looked at Wayne (my boyfriend) and said” you boys just can’t stop touching things”. He said he would never do this as I was laughing hysterically almost falling off my chair. The next man came up the hall from the other direction from the first two men he too had a pen in his hand and tossed the pen up towards the ceiling tile attempting what appeared to be getting the pen stuck in the ceiling tile. He was unsuccessful in his task as I leaned over to my boyfriend and stated “we are getting a floor show while we are here”. A moment later the man came out and called us to his office. I was so happy to relocate this time I had plenty of entertainment in the “Storage room B “. The finance office was a different experience all together; it was almost unbearable. This was an experience I would not want to repeat. The man was giving me options that I knew I could not afford with my budget. I explained this to him several times I would only be interested in GAP and nothing more then that because I did not wish my payment to exceed what I knew I could afford. After the explanation, I still could not afford the GAP and told him that more times then I could count only to get to an upset point and almost did not want the SUV. He brought in his manager after several different attempts to have me raise my payment and I kept saying no I needed to keep the payment where it is. After talking with the manager, I only raised my payment $1.45 which I could manage. Thank goodness, this part is finished! Oh, wait I was wrong I have to come back on Wednesday October 13. 2010! To sign the final documents and to see the same person again oh no back to storage room B! I have the feeling it is not going to be a good afternoon to be back and see the same person that had me very frustrated on my day off. After all the free entertainment for this afternoon, I was finally able to take my new car for a drive! I made it perfectly clear that if they gave me the key and I drive it that Bell Honda would not be getting it back from me. I told them I did not wish to take the SUV unless I was able to keep it. They reassured me that everything would be fine and to not worry, they would take care of everything. Therefore, now I wait until Wednesday to see if they are true to their word. Wednesday came and I went to the finance area (storage room B) and waited for my appointment with Dale. As I was sitting there, I soon realized that dress down Friday had become dress down week! The guy with the camo shorts was still wearing them but he did appear to be enjoying his job very much he was happy and smiled each time he walked by. The flip-flop girls had traded the flops for flat shoes and Capri’s’, which I was surprised because those types of slacks are very casual. Then Dale showed to greet me and said politely, “May I help you?” I stated, “I have an appointment with you at 12 noon. He stated ok and would be right with me. After he left me, I was worried I might see things that I should not after my last visit to the Honda dealership. Just then, Frank showed up and stated we had a problem with the SUV and the bank would not lend the money because the vehicle is too old (2008). I said a few words of discontent (none of them foul) because I had had the SUV for 5 days and no one called to say there was a problem with the lender and I was very hurt by the entire situation. Obviously, their word was not golden! Then Frank wanted me to view another car a 2010 Chevy Impala. I told him I did not like this car at all and was not comfortable sitting in it let a lone driving it. Oh but Apryl you can improve your credit and trade it in a year. I could not do it but they (Frank and Chris) kept it up attempting to get me to agree to buy a car I did not like. My boyfriend showed up at my request to get a ride home from the dealership and he was as floored as I was that they wanted me buy a car I did not like. I explained to them I was not going to buy the Chevy and would like my checks returned. At this point in time I just wanted to go home, give me my checks back and let me go is what I was requesting because I did not wish to buy this car. Soon after Chris came to me and stated there might be another SUV I could get and it would cost me $585.00 per month. I explained to Chris that this was more then the first SUV and beyond what I could pay each month. Meanwhile, Ramsey was getting an SUV ready for me to drive. (Obviously, each person does not communicate with the other) He came in and said come on my dear we have a Jeep for you to drive. I stated no I could not afford that vehicle so I was not going to drive it. He stated ok and went to speak with Chris. My boyfriend said, “I can’t believe they want you in a car you can’t afford when you could have afforded the first one they are taking back. By this time I am a mental wreck, have had my fill with everything, and just wanted to go home. Then Ramsey came to me and stated they had a Ford for me if I was interested and we took the car for a ride. I told them yes I would like this car as I have had one in the past. It was a 2007 Ford Fusion (knowing this car was older then the SUV I had in the first place how would the bank like that since they told me the 2008 was too old to finance) so my boyfriend and I went to grab some lunch as it had been a long day and they wanted to play with paper so instead of waiting we went to get food. Upon returning, the salesperson Ramsey showed me a paper with all the options on this Ford Fusion and the amounts and things as before and then we were escorted to storage room B once again. My boyfriend had asked why there was a $400 option on the list and he told us it was for the paint protecting. Now, I did not have a problem with this protection but he stated it was a bank requirement and we asked if we could talk with the bank to inquire why they insisted on this option. He was upset and his boss Chris was upset and stated the deal was done they were not going to help me any longer and bring my checks to me. I stated fine we would just go after you bring my checks. I had also requested they give me some money for gas as I had put forty dollars in the SUV they took back from me and Chris came back with “we will need to evaluate the miles you put on the SUV first. (I was so upset by this point I just said whatever I could, care less about the gas at this point just get the checks for me. After awhile of waiting Dale came out and said he was ready for me (I thought he had the checks) we went back to his office and at this point he was very nice and understanding and stated the deal was ready for signing. Really? I stated I was under the impression this deal was not going to be done because the sales department was very upset with me. He stated he did not know of this and had everything ready if I would like to buy the car. I signed all the papers and was ready to go with the car and Joseph the sales person walked me to the car. I asked if they had replaced the blinker because it was broke and stated not at this time. I drove the car home about 10 miles or so only to discover the stereo CD player did not read anything, the right blinker was still out and the breaks screamed every time I stepped on them. When I finally was settled in the house (about 15 min) I called the dealership to get some help with a car I just bought, no one was able to answer their phones. Therefore, I called Tom the service manager and left a message for him to call me back. I then called the main number again and asked the receptionist to connect me to some manager that could assist me. She connected me to Dave the sales manager and explained my current situation. He proceeded to ask when could I bring the car back and I explained because of my work hours Friday morning would be the best time. We had an appointment scheduled so onward we go to the next and I pray final step in this process. Well, Friday is here and I met with Dave one of the sales managers (I had no idea there were so many of them!) well after a lengthily conversation with Dave we were sent to the service department for them to fix my car. The service department (Travis) was very helpful and stated after 2 hours that the brakes were fixed, and the tail light but stated they were not going to fix the radio and I would have to see the sales department. I relocated back to the sales floor to speak with Dave the sales manager regarding the sound system. At this point I was passed off to Kevin another sales manager and he proceeded to inform me that the radio is not covered and I bought the car “as is” I stated that I was under the impression that everything was working when I signed the papers. See, they do not have CD’s available to test when you drive the car but the sales department made sure to tell me all the options this car had prior to purchase. I simply stated that Bell Honda needed to make this right and fix it. Kevin was not happy with me and I am sure he wanted me out of the show room as soon as he could. All I could think was this was not a good situation and I would NEVER go back to Bell Honda or any other Honda dealer again in my life! Kevin stated I had to speak to the lender for a phone interview before they would fix the stereo. I was shocked by this request, as I have never had a lender state that as a requirement for funding. I have purchased many cars with financing and have never had a phone interview before so I asked Kevin why this was a requirement? He stated it was because of the new program. After several minutes of back and forth statements regarding this situation Kevin stated because the car was a Ford they would have to put an after market stereo in the car. I explained that as long as it worked and played CD’s and MP3’s I was fine because that is what the car should have because that is what the sales department stated with purchase. He then stated he would have it in by Wednesday and they could install. Guess we shall see what happens, maybe this time they will be true to their word. Well we are delayed until Friday October 22, 2010. Today October 20, 2010 I placed a call to Capital one Auto Finance and they informed me that the final paper work from the dealership had not received. I then inquired why I did not have my required phone interview that Kevin stated I needed. Cheryl stated that phone interviews were not a practice they perform. I thanked her for the information and finished my day. My total experience with the entire car-buying situation has been a nightmare for me, I am unsure as to why all of this garbage has happened, and I pray no other customer has this much drama buying a car from anywhere. I have spoken with many salespersons, managers, and service people and all in all service and finance departments were the best. I found that they did not inspect this car before they resold it to me. If it had been inspected then the car would have been repaired before sold. In addition, the car was not cleaned on the inside the carpet is dirty, and food was stuck on the seats in the back. One request I would make is if a customer is truly unhappy and makes the request to speak to the GM or CEO or even an owner the statement should be “I will see what I can do for you, or give an opportunity to contact them” not “that is not a remote possibility for you to meet with the owner”. I felt I was treated with disrespect and dishonorably. In addition to being visually harassed by some of the personnel in the company and treated unfairly in business practices. I will inform anyone that will listen to my complaints because I would hate any person to have such an experience as I have. I will never buy another car from this organization nor will I recommend anyone to the entire company, as I would have more respect for them then the way I have been treated. Customer service and business ethics are severely lacking in this company and I felt as if the sales department personnel were only interested in a deal and disregarded the customer all together. My question for anyone who reads this is: Where has customer service gone? In addition, how should it be brought back so no one would have to endure this type of treatment in the future?
