Brought my 4Runner for a few minor repairs and my Service Advisor, Patrice Porter, who is the epitome of Outstanding Customer Service, kept us updated on our vehicle throughout the repair process. It's refreshing to work with someone who enjoys their job and is knowledgeable about the subject matter. There are many companies who could take a cue from BT!! Thanks. More
Horrible Customer Service While a bad experience does make it more likely to leave negative reviews, this time it merits it. Every staff interaction, almost, was poor. Unknow While a bad experience does make it more likely to leave negative reviews, this time it merits it. Every staff interaction, almost, was poor. Unknowledgeable, uncaring and disinterested. After raising my complaints, nothing was accomplished and I was treated like I did not matter. Therefore, I will not do business any further. They obviously don't need it or want it or deserve it. Very pushy sales and no follow up 1) Salesmen swarmed me when I parked. 2) Salesman didn’t think I could afford the truck I wanted (I could) 3) Manager was belittling when explaining 1) Salesmen swarmed me when I parked. 2) Salesman didn’t think I could afford the truck I wanted (I could) 3) Manager was belittling when explaining to me their sales process 4) Didn't know how to registration worked in Washington 5) Lied about who the previous owner of my vehicle was 6) Couldn’t tell me how they came up with the value of the vehicle 7) Claimed standard equipment was a special add-on feature 8) Very pushy on sales 9) Zero follow up I’ll start by saying that I’ve waited a few weeks to write this review because I wanted to see how the follow up from Beaverton Toyota would be after the purchase of my truck. There was no follow up… I will also say that the truck itself is exactly what I wanted, however, I would have greatly preferred that it be sold to me by a different dealership, and it is highly unlikely that I’ll return to Beaverton Toyota even for service. I had been car shopping for about two months and wasn’t in a hurry to purchase a new vehicle. I was pre-approved with a loan from USAA and a wanted to sure their car buying service. Since I didn’t need a new car, I wasn’t going to settle for just anything thus me taking my time. After work on a Friday, I test drove several cars at different places when I stopped by Beaverton Toyota at the prompting of my friend. As soon as I parked, I saw the truck that I ultimately purchased, and then also saw the salesmen about to swarm my car like bees to a flower. This made me very uncomfortable, and I even sent a text to a friend about how awkward it was trying to get out of my car while all the salespeople were waiting to pounce on me. (I could literally hear them negotiating amongst each other on who would “take” me.) The salesman walked up and asked if he could help me. He was polite enough, and I pointed to the truck, and said “I want that truck. How much is is?” He responded with “oooh… it’s expensive and many people want it. Are you sure you can afford it?” To which, I assured him I could afford anything on the lot and asked again, “how much is that truck?” He then took me over and told me about it and showed me the price. I then asked if they were members of USAA’s car buying service, and he said no. I let him know that I wanted to use USAA therefore I’d be leaving. He then hurried me in to speak with a manager who was rather abrupt and abrasive as he told me that they service many USAA members, and I’m the only one who has asked for that. He then spoke to me like a child and explained that Beaverton Toyota is a member of the “CLEAR” program and that I could “trust” them to give the best price. Also, they very sternly informed me there there would be no negotiations or lower offers on their vehicles. What’s posted on the sticker is the price. On the one hand, that’s great! it takes all the stress and pressure off car buying. On the other hand, it assumes that I know what “CLEAR” is and trust that it is trustworthy. I neither new what CLEAR was nor trusted it, but I decided to go along because I really wanted the truck. Test driving the truck and asking basic questions about it went fine, and the salesman was nice enough. However, he did a lot of talking and didn’t answer my questions the first time I asked. I often had to ask again or rephrased my questions before I received the answer. After the test drive, I told the salesman that I liked the truck and would be back the next day to purchase it. I told him that I wanted to sleep on it to make sure it wasn’t an impulse buy. He then proceeded to tell me the story about how a guy tried to purchase it the day before and was declined on credit, and how he’s has several people call him that day to purchase it. While I get they would not want to hold the car for me, I showed him my pre-approval letter from USAA and said that I’d be back when they open. He proceeded to really start to pressure me into the sale. (Again, while I like the truck and am glad I have it, I still regret buying it that day.) I gave in and told him I’d purchase the truck. So he sat my down in their lobby to start filling out paper work. (this took almost 2 hours.) While we were working, I asked about the history of the truck, why was it returned only a few months after it was purchased. He said it was because the guy who owned it previously was transferred with his job and couldn’t take it. That sounded reasonable enough. I then asked again about the “CLEAR” process and wanted more information. The salesman proceeded to pull up on his iPad their reviews online and started to read them to me one by one for about 15 mins. He then walked me to a trophy they have for top sales or something like that and told me a story about how they only get that for being honest. I’m glad they have awards and reviews, but the more he talked the worse I began to feel. You don’t have to oversell honesty. Unfortunately, at this point, I had begun the paper work for the loan ect. Since this was technically a “used” truck, I ask for a history of the maintenance, when the next maintenance would be due, a list of the improvements made to the truck (there are a few visible ones), and how they came up with it’s value. The salesman said none of that was an issue and would have it for me the following day. I said that’s not a problem… after all he just spend 15-20 minutes bragging about how good they are in customer service. He did tell me that because of their clear pricing, it being used, and the improvements made to the truck that I could “easily” resale it for $5-8K right away. That’s how “fair” their pricing was. OK… I’ll take it. While I as waiting for the paperwork to be completed, I was left alone multiple times for 5,10, 15 mins at a time. When the salesman did come back, I asked if they would fill the truck up with gas (I noticed it was basically empty on the test drive.) he said no. I asked if they would take care of the first oil change, he said no. I asked if they would offer any deals on adding more features to the truck (Like side steps), he said no. There was absolutely not willingness to make the purchase of the truck pleasant. maybe this is a part of the “CLEAR” thing, but still… a tank of gas??? Finally, he came back with the paperwork to finalize the transaction, and I had been there almost 3 hours. Remember… I only test drove one vehicle there. I new exactly what I wanted and didn’t waste time with loans or anything else. In the paperwork, the salesman tried (again) to get me to do a loan with their “people” and I declined again. We signed everything, and he told me that the truck would be registered for 5 years. I said… “I live in Washington. Are you sure?” (I just moved here a year ago so I didn't know.) He told me was positive and had done this many of times. As we were standing up to leave, I asked again about the additions to the truck. I asked that they list out what they were and the values they attributed to them. He said he had to go ask a coworker, and I could over hear him speaking with the coworker. Apparently one of the people at the dealership owned the truck and not a guy who was moved for his job as previously stated. As you can imagine, my heart sank because if he lied about this what else did he lie about. but it was too late to change anything. So I decided to come back the next day as he requested to get the information about the trucks history. When we finally got to the truck, I noticed that the license plate was registered for 3 years. I mentioned it, and he said not to worry I’d get new plates in the mail for 5 years. Well, I did get new plates in the mail… for Washington not Oregon and for 1 year renewal. Not that any of this really matters as it is the WA law, but it matters in that he either doesn’t know what he’s doing or just lied for the sale. The next day I drove all the way back to Beaverton for the information on the truck, and he didn’t have it. All he had was hand written notes on the bill of sale… and one of the items that was “added” came with the truck as standard equipment. So here I am in a precarious potions. I love the truck. I’m not 100% sure I payed the right price. I have had zero follow up from the salesman, sales manager, or anyone else to see how my visit went. This was the worst car buying experience I’ve had, and this is the sixth vehicle I’ve purchased. I don’t recommend going here as there is nothing special about doing business with this place. Given their reviews, I had expected more. More

Invoice accuracy has improved immeasur Beaverton Toyota's service dept used to run very low marks for timeliness on services and accuracy on invoices. Invoice accuracy has improved immeasurably, but their estimates of the amount of time needed to complete an oil change are still woefully inadequate. Plan for an extra 30 - 45 minutes beyond their estimate. The renovated waiting area is very comfortable. More
