In June of 2021 we completed a lease transaction at Bayside Jeep dealership. We committed to pay a fee in return for the use of Jeep Wrangler vehicle. However this lease deal has not be fulfilled on th Bayside Jeep dealership. We committed to pay a fee in return for the use of Jeep Wrangler vehicle. However this lease deal has not be fulfilled on the part of Bayside Jeep Dealership. We have kept up our part of the bargain and paid the expected monthly charge without fail, but we have been inconvenienced twice unable to use the Jeep we’re paying for, due to total negligence on Bayside Jeep dealership’s part. June 2022. My wife reported via phone to Bayside Jeep dealership that the engine light is consistently on. She was told that it was nothing to worry about, she can keep on driving, and to make a service appointment the following week. My wife did as advised until two days later when in New Jersey the Jeep began to act erratic. Concerned she googled the nearest Jeep dealership, Franklin Sussex Automall Inc, and cautiously drove there. She was told by the dealership mechanic that she cannot drive the car anymore ‘without causing damage to the car’, and that they would check it out the following day. Now she was stuck in New Jersey without a vehicle miles from home, so she booked an Uber and a local hotel at our expense. The following day she waited all day for the promised call from the mechanic regarding the engine light issue. Nothing happened, so she called late in the afternoon and was told nobody had looked at the vehicle, maybe tomorrow. After two days, staying at a hotel waiting for the diagnosis, she Ubered from New Jersey into Manhattan, again at our cost. After many days inconvenienced without a vehicle, the diagnosis was that the engine light was continually on due to a leak from the oil strainer which was reinstalled incorrectly after a service was performed at Bayside Jeep dealership a couple of weeks before. Upset at hearing this and the great expense to us, I called the salesman Jermaine Alfonso regarding this matter he showed a casual and unconcerned manner, simply stating call the service manager, which proved impossible getting past the receptionist gatekeeper to speak with someone. May 2023 We got an alert from the DMV that the registration on the Jeep was due to expire along with the inspection. You can’t re-register a vehicle without the inspection. So my wife drove the car to get inspected while in New Jersey. The inspection center refused to conduct the inspection due to the engine light being on, again. So she drove to Franklin Sussex Automall Inc, again, to get the repair made. They do not have an opening schedule time until the third week of June. So we are once again left without a vehicle, as we cannot get neither our registration nor inspection until this engine light is fixed. Utterly dismayed I called Bayside dealership to again speak with our salesman Jermaine Alfonso to protest at this awful treatment we are receiving. I left three messages, one on June 8, and two on June 9, and did not get any response. Each time I called I was told he was with a customer and would return my call, which was a lie. So clearly Bayside dealership has little concern for its customers. Your service department could not conduct a simple oil change, and your salespeople have no respect for their customers. Where does that leave me as I am fulfilling my pledge to pay a monthly fee for the use of a vehicle, yet for a second time I am without a vehicle, while again being forced to pay for expenses that I should not be doing. I do hope that this letter will awaken someone’s sensibilities before I have to seek professional advise as to Bayside dealerships unfulfilled contractual responsibilities. More
