Battleground Kia has had a 2021 Kia Forte (stock number 21697) in a gray advertised for $17,300. It’s the first car that comes up on their website when you look at the new car inventory. It’s been listed f 21697) in a gray advertised for $17,300. It’s the first car that comes up on their website when you look at the new car inventory. It’s been listed for a least a week that I know of because I have been trying to purchase the car, but when I call to ask about it, first they say the car is still there and to come on in to test drive and talk to sales. I mention that I don’t need to test drive and would just like to start purchase over phone. They tell me that they can’t do that and not honoring the virtual appointment I made online with their company when inquiring about that car. They said I have to come in and talk to sales manager and look at what else they have. After I call them out for this sounding like a bait and switch scam, they have a sales person (Cam) call me. He tells me that they can’t find the car. He said it’s either a loaner car or they haven’t received it yet. He said the general manager will track down and call me, but then goes on to tell me that they have Rio’s around that price or new Forte’s coming in that are the upgraded version but it would cost more. This is exactly how bait and switch works and it’s illegal. Meanwhile, Cam has never called back but I have been in contact with girl that schedules appointments because she wants to know when I can come in to look at my options since car is “missing”. Her main job is just to get someone through the door. It’s a big game to them. Either the company has purchased that car and they don’t plan on selling so they can legally advertise for it (but tell most people it just sold but check out this more expensive car) or they are advertising for a car they don’t have. This missing car is still listed as their number 1 car for sale, so I doubt it’s truly missing. Even after all my conversations with company and them acknowledging that it’s missing, it is still being advertised just in time for Thanksgiving weekend and Black Friday shoppers. I have a feeling the ad won’t go down until after this weekend where they will say they sold it. They will replace this Forte with a 2022 online with an amazing deal that they never plan on honoring. I strongly encourage everyone to read the reviews. I’m not the only one saying this. This company will probably respond to this write up saying it sounds like lack of communication but it’s not. I have many texts from Jessica and she even confirmed everything with Cam about our conversation. Cam, the sales associate is very well aware of what’s going on. He just says the manager will need to return my call but he’s never in the office. It’s not lack of communication. They have many reviews doing this. It’s illegal and I am reporting it to the FTC (for whatever that’s worth) and will probably get a lawyer to look into this because they have been getting away with it for years by reading reviews. Honestly this is the best dealership experience I've ever had. Ask for Desean, he's one of the best employees to get you sorted out on any car that you want. Very pleased with my experience. Not the typical pushy car salesmen. They listened to the things I needed and made the efforts to get it. Very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend to friends and car salesmen. They listened to the things I needed and made the efforts to get it. Very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend to friends and family. We have taken the car back several times to try to get the problem fixed. Kia is aware the engine has a problem. The oil burns extremely fast, there is also a recall on this engine. The guy in service told me the engine would definitely fail then Kia could replace the engine at that time. I was told this car was in great shape and been serviced by Kia. There solution is for my 19 year old daughter to keep driving the car until the engine fails. Basically Kia will not fix the problem until my daughter is driving her car and the engine fails. Not to safe in my opinion. Giving the fact she just bought the car , I am sure Kia new about the problem but just wanted to sale a 19 year old a car. No matter what problems or safety issues it would cause. They told my daughter to keep coming up to the shop every week and they would top the oil off. How long are we going to do that. I feel I need legal help at this point. More

Bait and switch from the car I asked to see to the car I was shown. After test driving a 2020 and attempting to negotiate pricing on a 2020 and 2021 it was a bait and switch with negotiating a sale. AVOID LIKE CORONAVIRUS!! I bought my first Kia, brand new in 2011, from Battleground Kia. I purchased the Sorento SX, fully loaded, largest SUV they made at the time, so you know we dropped a few coins. new in 2011, from Battleground Kia. I purchased the Sorento SX, fully loaded, largest SUV they made at the time, so you know we dropped a few coins. Had a great buying experience the first time, so naturally I returned there again on 6/26/2020 looking to purchase my second New Kia. Was there for 2 hours before I had to leave for a meeting but they let me drive the car home for a few hours so my husband could see and drive it. We both loved the Sportage EX I drove home but I didn't like the color. I texted Ryan, the salesman (who was really nice BTW) and told him i wasn't paying $494/mo for the vehicle and to go ahead and speak to the sales manager, Anthony, to give me their very best price when I got there because I wasn't going to hang around again, haggling over a price. When we get there, Ryan shows us another Sportage EX on the lot exactly like the one I drove home but in a different color. I liked this color much better so I told him i would be good with this new color if we could agree on a price/payment/terms. We were very specific with both Ryan and Anthony on a 75 month term and were told we qualified for the 0.9% financing promotion since we have excellent credit. Anthony. the sales manager, said he was able to get our payments to what we told him we could afford, around $420-430 a month. We then go into the finance office to sign paperwork but when we get to the very last page, I notice at the bottom of the page a line that reads "$451 a month at 4.79% for 84 months." NOPE!!! Stopped it right there, sales manager comes in, pulls out the paper that he had done some writing on when he was talking to us, to show us that he had written on the paper that it would be for 84 months, not 75 like we specified previously and thought we were getting. GUESS WHAT?!? He couldn't find that written on a single sheet of paper in the file!!! Nor was there anything about an almost 4% rate increase. We stood there and made them void every single page before we left. Battleground Kia has apparently taken to some underhanded financial dealings, but thank God I caught them before the deal was done!!! GO TO ANY OTHER DEALER BUT BATTLEGROUND KIA!!!! More
