I recently visited the BMW dealership for a scheduled oil change and was extremely disappointed with the service. Despite having an appointment, I was told it could take up to an hour and a half. When I questioned why a simple oil change would take so long, especially without additional services like tire rotation, I was told there isn’t always a bay ready for scheduled appointments. This defeats the purpose of scheduling and ultimately wastes my time. The representative said if I didn’t show up, the technicians would have nothing to do, which was clearly not the case since my wait time was extended due to other tasks. This shows a lack of prioritization for scheduled appointments. When I expressed my frustration, the representative mentioned that even if he relayed my concerns to BMW corporate, they wouldn’t do anything about it because all they care about is maximizing their time and money over the customer’s needs. While waiting in the lounge, I overheard several unprofessional conversations from different staff members. One staff member discussed personal issues loudly, referring to “family xxxx.” Another called a customer an “idiot” when relaying an interaction. Then a salesman complained about three customers arriving at the same time, wondering “what the xxxx is wrong with people.” When my vehicle was finally returned, only half of the floor mat was wet and muddy. The mat was placed so far forward that it was on the accelerator. Furthermore, the representative who returned my vehicle partially blocked a handicap spot, forcing me to move my car so someone else could use the spot. Ultimately, I ended up spending the full hour and a half there, as the representative had mentioned was possible. We are purchasing a vehicle in the next week, and I was considering the BMW iX. This experience has led me to reconsider and choose another manufacturer, such as Lexus, due to their superior customer experience. More
I like how they send me a list of issues that need addressing and the pricing to be able to choose what I want done. My car came back much cleaner than I left it.
