Service department doesn’t seem to want my business. I tried to contact the service department for two major issues I had in the last 6 months. I had an unusual vibration & suspected an X-drive or transm I tried to contact the service department for two major issues I had in the last 6 months. I had an unusual vibration & suspected an X-drive or transmission problem. Called dealership twice and asked to be transferred to service. First time I got no answer and left a detailed message. Several days later after no response, I tried again and this time left same details with woman who answered and requested a call back. Nothing. Spent $1500 with independent facility to have transmission serviced. Several weeks later, I again contacted dealership about all four tire replacement. I was considering going with staggered tire sizes and felt BMW technicians would be the best choice to do the job. Same result. Two calls, two messages, no return call. I ended up spending $900 with Laning Tire for 4 tires and alignment. Hard to understand why the local dealership would not even bother to return a call for what would have been profitable service business. Interestingly, during this same time period, I did receive a call from the sales department with some bogus story about my vehicle being in big demand as a trade in on a new BMW. My conclusion is that this dealership is only interested in selling new cars and the gouging that goes with warranty work. When the vehicle is off warranty, the service department knows that they are unable to compete with independent service providers. Will not bother with this dealership for service OR new vehicle. More
Exceptional service provided by your service team My daughter and her best friend were in Bradenton on a girls week before college begins when yesterday morning the car would not start. After a few attempts to jump it with no luck I had the vehicle towed to your location. Initially I waited for a bit to get in contact with someone but when I did (Greg Jones) was not only sympathetic but also placed urgency on the situation. The girls were to be traveling back home today and of course were in question as to what next. Do we need a hotel is my dad coming to get us were all thoughts running through their minds. After some diagnostic time Greg called to inform me it was a bad key fob and asked if I had another. I was able to next day the key and once it arrived my car was not only reprogrammed for the key it was also updated to the newest software. With no request on my part Greg informed me the whole procedure would be no charge. As anyone in my shoes would feel the question of what is this going to cost was at the forefront of my mind behind the concern for the girls. Greg’s communication was spot on and his personality is great. I wish I lived near your facility but I live in Charleston SC. I would tell everyone about your organization. I spoke to one person in service he said we don’t take that warranty,spoke to someone else they said I had to pay up front. I took car to Sarasota Ford they took it to BMW IT WAS COVERED, THANK YOU SARASOTA FORD! It took 8 days to replace alternator because of the run around from BMW. Brought car back to Sarasota Ford for another problem Asst. Service Manager tried talking to BMW THEY TOLD HIM THEY DO NOT make calls to get repairs covered when it’s a cooper when payment is a call away and now it will take several days longer to get repaired because bmw is lazy to make that call. More
