Excellent Experience! I drove my first BMW 5 years ago when a friend let me try his out, and it was an out of this world fun car! Before I bought one for myself, however, I I drove my first BMW 5 years ago when a friend let me try his out, and it was an out of this world fun car! Before I bought one for myself, however, I wanted to make sure it was a good fit. For the past two years I researched and test drove sporty all wheel drive sedans with good gas mileage of various makes and models, including current generation BMW 3 Series, Infiniti G models, the 2015 Subaru Legacy as well as various Buicks, Chevys and Fords. Before I tried out the new 3 Series, I test drove the Infiniti G, and my experience was so poor at Infiniti that I almost did not want to step foot into another "luxury" dealership! Not only was my salesperson at Infiniti pushing a sale during the first test drive, but she misrepresented vehicles, trying to sell me older cars I didn't have interest in at a lesser cost because she assumed I hadn't done the research to know they had previously been in multiple accidents. (You can imagine the surprise on the saleperson's face when I was able to recite the Carfax history of a vehicle on her lot that was different from the one I had interest in buying!) The Infiniti employee was quite condescending, asking what I did for work and how much I could handle for a monthly payment (assuming financing was my only option?!) When I attempted to negotiate the price based on comparable AWD sedans, all she could respond was, "But it's an Infiniti!" Needless to say, I was hesitant to step foot into a BMW dealership because I feared the same treatment. In my quest for a car, however, I continually came back to the 3 Series in terms of the overall package, and had a great experience test driving the 4 cyl turbo at BMW of Ann Arbor. I came to BMW of Rochester Hills without appointment last week, and every single person at the dealership was friendly, welcoming and helpful. I was directed to Erick so I could test drive a specific Certified 328i xDrive, and he promptly pulled the car around, reminded me the driving features, and allowed me to take my time driving it around town. We then met up to answer questions about the car and the programs BMW has to offer, all the while him being incredibly polite, non-judgmental and down to earth. All of my questions were answered knowledgeably and honestly, confirming the information I had gathered when I previously researched the car. I left the first day with all of the information I needed if I wanted to pursue the purchase, but with no pressure to buy or make any decisions that day. In the coming days Erick was available and quick to communicate via both phone and email, and was flexible with my abnormal work schedule. My insurance agent even quoted me a monthly rate for the BMW that was LOWER than what I was paying for full coverage on my Pontiac. I ended up buying a clean Certified fully loaded 2013 328i for approximately the same amount I would have spent on a Certified fully loaded 2013 Ford Fusion with the same mileage, so I felt the price was more than fair to be able to bring home the Ultimate Driving Machine! ;-) Even after all of the paperwork was signed, Erick took time to conduct another walk through of the car, showing me all of the driving and technology features while helping to set up my memory seats, button shortcuts, Bluetooth connectivity to phone, etc. LONG STORY SHORT: If you're an average, financially responsible person like me who loves driving these cars but are on the fence about buying a BMW (versus another brand), you might be surprised about how much car (and MPGs...and great interest rates...and low priced insurance...and customer service) you can get for your money, and you won't regret working with Erick at BMW of Rochester Hills.
