In my opinion, he's either he's not much of a go getter, or the dealership is lacking in integrity. Could be both... The car we we're going back and forth on was a 2020 330i with 6.5k miles on it. KBB had private party value at $34.2k (average). They had it listed on their site for $31,788. I knew this was probably before all the fun extras dealerships like to add onto the sale sheet, but I told them I was willing to pay $36k otd, however they needed to adjust it on the sheet. He told me the car was worth $40k the first time I talked to him, then $43k the next time I talked to him, then finally he calls me and says ok we can do $36k but my manager wants it gone asap. It was the same game nearly every car salesman plays- obnoxious, but they agreed to my otd, so we got the ball rolling. After I get all the inspections and photos/videos, I'm ready to put a deposit down. He starts dragging his feet and puts it off until the next day. The next day he tells me that the someone already put a deposit down on the vehicle. I asked if it was before or after I was attempting to do so. He said AFTER. Brilliant right? I said some not so nice things, he apologized and blamed it on his manager for not allowing me to give them the deposit. I get the feeling they had someone else interested at a higher price, told them if they came in and put the deposit down then it would be theirs and I lost out so they could make a few more bucks despite being ready to give them my money the night before. Nicest, most professional, car dealer I have ever had. James was very personable and just amazing. Definitely an asset to your business. James' initial price was "Exactly" as advertized, and the payments were within $6.00 of the final deal. He was attentive, but not pushy and bent over backwards to satisfy my requests. Down side was that we were there for 4.5 hours because you only had one financial person to deal with all three dealerships. But you made our stay very comfortable and "non stressful". Had been to another dealership the day before and the experience was horendous and I was not looking forward to another day of lies and stress. I commend your dealership and staff, especially James, for your professionalism, honesty, and willingness to work with me. More
