They always try to be very customer favorable. Due to the pandemic the service department has also been affected with what seems to be a loss of employees, but they still maintain a very good level of servic pandemic the service department has also been affected with what seems to be a loss of employees, but they still maintain a very good level of service. My son, wife, and I walked into the Mountainview, CA BMW dealer at 8:01 pm to look at X3’s Friday July 23rd. My son, a first time buyer, had been test driving cars including the Q5, GLC, Discovery, RDX, an dealer at 8:01 pm to look at X3’s Friday July 23rd. My son, a first time buyer, had been test driving cars including the Q5, GLC, Discovery, RDX, and XT60. We had gone to the Stevens Creek BMW dealer a few weeks back and had a terrible experience. But our experience with BMW dealers has never been good. We didn’t know if it was just BMW dealers that were just rude or if it was that specific dealer. However, a good friend of ours suggested we come to the Mountainview dealership. He mentioned to us that it was AutoNation and the sales professionals were well trained, polite, and helpful. We had visited the other AutoNation owned dealers such as the Mercedes dealer on Stevens Creek, and the Acura dealer on Stevens Creek with fairly good experiences. The Volvo dealer was a poor experience for an AutoNation dealer as they were just inattentive in general. When we got to the BMW Mountainview dealership, we experienced otherwise. While rushing to greet us before any other salesperson could come to assist, Majid Behmaram, quickly tried to size up my son by asking if we were buying a car tonight. He kept asking for contact information and we felt uncomfortable. We politely told him we were looking, but he chose to make a few wrong assumptions: 1. My son was not interested in purchasing a car today 2. His time was more valuable than our time 3. He felt it was okay to bully us with his behaviour My son asked him about test driving a car and listening to the sound system. Given that there were no cars that met the initial criteria in the show room, he suggested we walk to the lot by the service area. We followed him across the street to find a car that matched my son’s criteria. Majid was unprepared. He had no idea what was on inventory. He lied about certain features that were not included with the car. He had not done his homework despite being an "experienced" BMW sales person. When we asked about test driving the car tonight, he told us that we could only do it by appointment and that we should give him our mobile numbers and email so he could contact us to schedule an appointment. That made no sense as other sales people were giving test drives and much more professional. There was still an hour to go before closing. Majid mentioned he was going to call it a night. When we refused to give us the time for a test drive, he told us that we were wasting his time and that we should come back when we were ready to buy. At that point, I told him that this was not a way to treat a customer and we would switch sales professionals. He told us to leave the dealership and not come back. He was so rude that I sent my wife and kids to find another salesperson and called for the manager on duty Raj K. I waited around and asked him for his name. He told me that he didn’t have to tell me and that I didn’t belong on the property. At that moment, I told him that his behavior was not what was expected of a BMW sales professional and an Auto Nation professional. I headed back to the 2nd floor show room where I proceeded to talk to the manager on duty Raj K. I finally found out who the salesperson was and other colleagues mentioned that this was his normal approach to sales. The apologized and we finally got a demo and a test drive with a knowledgeable and professional salesperson Frank. The reason I am writing this review is so others can know what to expect when they go to the BMW in Mountainview and are approached by Majid. For the GM, in the area, PJ, customers do care about their initial experiences. For example, we will never set foot at the Stevens Creek BMW as they are just arrogant, rude, and unprofessional. We had thissame first impression of the Mountainview BMW based on the interaction with Majid. We’re glad the rest of your team saved the experience. I do hope someone sits Majid down and tells him he can’t act this way to customers and bully them. Now our only hope is to find the right car for my son. He’s looking for a Red X3 XDrive30i and this may mean a custom order from Munich. It's time to upgrade your sales people. More
