I bought a certified pre-owned X5 from BMW Monterey and paid for an extended warranty. Less than 4 months later I took the car in because it would not go into e-drive. I was quoted $1300 in service costs paid for an extended warranty. Less than 4 months later I took the car in because it would not go into e-drive. I was quoted $1300 in service costs including $700 for a new Aux battery and of course none of this was covered under the warranty. "Bait and switch". So much for being certified. Apparently the “certified” moniker means nothing to BMW. I'll never buy another BMW as they always find a way to screw you on service and warranty. I've never had this issue with Tesla and, in fact, they changed out my Aux battery for free on my Model X. More
