At BMW of El Paso, we strive for transparency in our pricing and want to clarify the details regarding the "shop charge." In addition to the charges for parts, labor, and applicable taxes, a "shop charge" is applied to help cover the costs of materials that are generally used during vehicle repairs and services but cannot be individually itemized. These materials include items such as rags, nuts, bolts, screws, cleaners, small amounts of lubricants, and other necessary supplies. This charge is calculated as a percentage of the total labor cost, and it is noted on the invoice. We understand that unexpected charges can be frustrating and appreciate the opportunity to explain. After reviewing your visit, we foun d that our team advised you of the estimated wait time for the service. While we understand how frustrating delays can be, the actual service time did not take the full 4 hours as stated. Regarding loaner vehicles, we regret to inform you that your car, being over 8 years old and with over 100,000 miles, does not meet the qualifications for a loaner car. We provided an Uber ride as a courtesy to ensure you could return home or work comfortably while your vehicle was serviced. We strive to make our customers' experience as smooth as possible, even in these circumstances.
