On the Road We encountered an issue with our BMW 7 Series because it was losing power and stuttering and the drivetrain malfunction light came on. We are from Pen We encountered an issue with our BMW 7 Series because it was losing power and stuttering and the drivetrain malfunction light came on. We are from Pennsylvania and we were flying out the next day for a vacation out of New Jersey. We took the car to the dealership and they stated that we could leave the car with them and they'd contact us later to let us know that the issue was before moving forward with the repairs. We were contacted by David Ferreira (via phone) and he told us that he'd have a mechanic look at it and once they knew he'd contact us to see what we'd like to do. It took only a day and David contacted us with all the information and the cost to fix the issue. He gave us a couple options and we took his advice to replace everything instead of just replacing some of the items. We could have taken the cheaper route, but we were assured that replacing all would be best. David stayed in contact with us via phone and text messaging and once the repair was complete he notified us. We told him that we wouldn't be back for a few more days and he stated that there wasn't an issue, our vehicle could be left there until we arrived home. When we arrived home we contacted David to let him know that we were on our way. We went to the cashier's desk and they pulled our folder, took our payment, and we were out the door in less than 15 minutes. We drove home from New Jersey and had zero issues. If I was in the Bloomfield area and had any issues with our car, I wouldn't hesitate to take it back to BMW of Bloomfield. More
Bad experience My previous experience with this service center has been good. Unfortunately this time was not pleasant at all. Not so much on the work itself, rather My previous experience with this service center has been good. Unfortunately this time was not pleasant at all. Not so much on the work itself, rather on the care and attendance on customer's needs. In the past I asked for a loaner car. However, this time I had to settle for a shuttle service as I took my car in a week before my original appointment because I had to change a tire due to punture on the side wall. No problem when they called a shuttle to take me to my office after I dropped off the car. My big disappointment came after I was informed that my car was done. I was told to call the front to arrange a shuttle when I am ready to be picked up. Then I called and was told that somebody would call me back for shuttle arrangement in a few minutes. I waited for 45 minutes and nobody called. I called a second time and got the same response. After waiting for another 30 minutes, no call and I eventually was lucky enough to find someone in my office to give me a ride to the service center. At that time, most people had left my office and I could have been stuck because of BMW's unresponsive and unreliable service to its customer. At the end, nobody from BMW service ever called me back at all. When I complained after I got to the center, I received no real explanation (or apologies) other than asking why I didn't call my advisor. In fact it was my advisor told me to call the front when I am ready to be picked up. Another thing that added to the bad experience was that after getting home, I noticed that there were significant fresh scratch marks on the rim (edge) of the wheel where the tire was replaced. It looked like the wheel had hit onto some curb or heavy objects. Overall, this has been a frustrated and bad experience. More
Worth the Trip I live more than 40 miles from BMW of Bloomfield. Because they are between home and my job, I've had several occasions to use their service department I live more than 40 miles from BMW of Bloomfield. Because they are between home and my job, I've had several occasions to use their service department in emergency situations. The service department is the best. A lot of dealers don't want to touch your car if you didn't purchase it from them. BMW of Blomfield has always treated me courteously and with respect. More
