I have been searching for something to lease when my BMW lease (from a competitive dealership) is up in 3 months! I sent one email inquiring about one x3m40i 2022 NEW that was advertised. Within 2 minutes I had not only Pete Jacob the Sales Consultant but his Sales Manager Yesenia Cruz also contact me! I have to admit that impressed me knowing and having experienced from most local dealerships empathy, non urgency. These two invited me in the following day and actually HELD onto this amazing SAV with only my word. I found out that there were 9 different people who wanted that vehicle and most came in whilst I was closing the deal! A blessing to say the least. Ryan Durst is the Integrations Director who those two had come and speak with us. I thought "ok.. here we go, what will he try to push on us now." NOTHING! He genuinely likes to get to know who their buyers are and how he can make it the best possible experience with his team for us. AND he sure did. I can't believe I am writing that I would probably just go back to talk with this group again, but for sure I will. There was zero pressure, no haggling, an extremely fair offer was presented and it was all done in short time. I live in Lake Forest right between two well known BMW Dealerships and I can assure anyone I will be back at Motor Works in Barrington, (22 miles away) for many years to come! More

Leading up to pickup day, He was doing all the heavy lifting on the back end to make my experience as easy as possible. Being my first experience buying a car, he made it very easy to explain all the documents/paper work which resulted in a very smooth pickup day! Nice car, bad purchasing experience….Last week my Nice car, bad purchasing experience…. Last week my husband and I have purchased a brand-new BMW X4 from the Motor Werks BMW of Barrington. We had bou Nice car, bad purchasing experience…. Last week my husband and I have purchased a brand-new BMW X4 from the Motor Werks BMW of Barrington. We had bought two Mercedeses from them in the past and had a pretty good experience. My husband has been wanting a BMW for a while and this should have been a very enjoyable moment for him. Unfortunately, all he’s been talking about the remainder of the week is how purely we were treated at the dealership. Let me start by noting that we ordered this car through the dealership on November 30. We wanted to buy one from the inventory, but they had no X4s on the lot. We were told it would take 4-6 weeks to get the car. We just got the production number for it after 5 weeks and it took another month and a half before the car arrived from the factory to the dealership. When we came to pick it up our salesperson told us that the financial rates went up by 1% since last November and we had to remind him that he promised us that we would get the best financial deal available any time between the placement of the order and when it arrives. My husband had his license plate numbers for the last 20 years and of course he wanted to transfer his plates from the old car to the new one. We were told that they couldn’t do it because our old car needs emission test and therefore the state does not allow to transfer license plate until it is done. So, we had to purchase new license plates from the dealership. Later when we went to the DMV, they transferred our plates without even mentioning emission test, but overall, we paid almost $500 instead of $75 it would have cost us to transfer the plates. In the final price I have noticed an additional charge of $1,200 and when asked was explained that they applied a protective coat that this dealership puts on all the cars they sell. We were never asked if we wanted it, nor we were informed that it would be applied. At that point it was not worth my time arguing about it. The sales manager did not introduce himself and only came over to tell us that because we waited for this car for so long, they have special deals on extended warranties that we were not planning to buy anyway. Although we told our salesperson that we mainly owned Lexuses and this is our first BMW we were giving the keys and sent on our merry way without even offering to explain all the features and anything else we needed to know about the car. We had to come home and watch the video on YouTube to understand some of the features and how to change settings. Our salesperson was a nice and personable guy, but very new and inexperienced. He was unaware of the current deals and offerings. He may know the car’s features, but since he never shared them with us, we did not have the opportunity to confirm that. It is still a nice car after all, but not the purchasing experience we expected for an expensive luxury car. Will we buy another BMW? – Probably Will we buy from the Motor Werks BMW of Barrington again? – Definitely not. We would much rather order online…. More
