BMW of Annapolis responded

ON DECEMBER 23, 2010 WITH 87,848 MILES BMW OF ANNAPOLIS PERFORMED AN INSPECTION I SERVICE ON THIS 2003 X5. WE REPORTED AT THE TIME OF THE INSPECTION THAT THE ENGINE VALVE COVER GASKET AND OIL FILTER HOUSING WERE BOTH LEAKING OIL. THE CUSTOMER WAS NOTIFIED OF OUR FINDINGS AND PRESENTED WITH AN ESTIMATE TO REPAIR THE LEAKS. THE CUSTOMER DECLINED TO HAVE THESE REPAIRS MADE TO HIS VEHICLE AT THAT TIME. WE ALSO NOTED OTHER ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE THAT THE CUSTOMER DECLINED AS WELL. ON JANUARY 17, 2011 WITH 88,153 MILES THE CUSTOMER RETURNED WITH HIS X5 WITH A COMPLAINT OF OIL DRIPPING IN HIS DRIVEWAY AND THE SMELL OF BURNING OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT INTO THE SHOP AND INSPECTED. OUR FINDINGS WERE THAT THE SAME OIL LEAKS THAT WERE PRESENT THE PREVIOUS MONTH STILL EXISTED. UNLESS THE CUSTOMER WANTED US TO REPAIR THE LEAKING VALE COVER GASKET AND OIL FILTER HOUSING HE WOULD CONTINUE TO EXPERIENCE THE DRIPPING OIL AND BURNING SMELL. THE CUSTOMER AGAIN DECLINED THE RPAIRS AND SUGGESTED THAT WE CAUSED THE LEAK WHEN WE PREVIOUSLY WORKED ON THE VEHICLE. WE ATTEMPT TO HAND WASH EVERY VEHICLE WE SERVICE EVERY DAY. OCCASSIONLY IF THE WEATHER IS NOT PERMITABLE OR THE VEHICLE APPEARS TO HAVE JUST BEEN CLEANED WE DO DO NOT WASH SOME SERVICE CARS. OUR COMPLETE FACILITY IS CURRENTLY BEING REDESIGNED BY AN ARCHITECTURE FIRM AND WE ARE SCHEDULED TO BEGIN CONSTRUCTION ON THE FACILITY IN 2011. ALL OF OUR TECHNICIANS ARE BMW TRAINED AND CERTIFIED. WE REGULARLY COMPARE OUR PRICING STRUCTURE WITH OTHER BMW DEALERS IN THE AREA TO MAKE SURE OUR PRICING IS COMPETITIVE. WE ARE PROUD OF OUR DEALERSHIP AND MOST OF ALL THE PEOPLE WHO WORK HERE.
