Alek, Thank you for your comments on Dealer Rater. It is important to communicate effectivley as well as properly manage expectations. Your concerns are important to me but in the interest of fairness, your accusations are without merit. The vehicle you purchased was a 2004 model with in excess of 85,000 miles on it. This vehicle had the typical wear and tear that would be consistant with a 7 year old vehicle with this mileage and there was no attempt to misrepresent the condition. The far more serious matter that concerns me is your accusation of changing the price after the final price was agreed to. This vehicle was sold to you at the agreed upon price. You were initially going to pay with a cashier's check and handle the payment of your Illinois taxes and tags yourself. When you opted to finance this vehicle, we are required to collect the tax and tag fees as well as record the lien on the title. This is a usual and customary practice. The "$400 addition" you are refering to is the expenses to apply and secure your Illinois license plates. We disclosed this to you in an email before you visited the dealership. We collected this fee from you and refunded the unsued portion ($163.73) on October 31st - 2 weeks BEFORE you submitted this posting. I appreiciate that you have a personal opinion on this matter and regret that you chose not to speak with me about this. Best regards, Paul Balkeman
