BMW Northwest (Fife) went out of their way to charge me $4.25 for returning a courtesy car with allegedly "94%" fuel instead of 99%. How unprofessional, petty, classless, and snide. I made a perfectly go $4.25 for returning a courtesy car with allegedly "94%" fuel instead of 99%. How unprofessional, petty, classless, and snide. I made a perfectly good faith effort to return the loaner 320i sedan with full fuel, spending $20 to fill up directly before I returned the vehicle to their custody. The fuel gauge displayed a totally full tank after the refill. Instead of appreciating my business (spending $1,194 on maintainence for own vehicle), this unprofessional shop chose to insult my inbox with a message notifying me that they just couldn't live another day on this earth without charging me a separate, additional fee of $4.25 for 0.65 gallons of fuel. Isn't that petty and childish? Couldn't they observe I made a good faith effort to return the courtesy car with very, very close to a completely full tank? Shame on these people. What a clown show. Lost a customer forever. I've chosen to edit this comment in order to clarify my aggravation with a few more thoughts. This isn't really about $4.25 for 0.65 gallons of fuel. It is about a broader decline in the American value of customer appreciation. It is worth asking this: did the conduct of BMW Northwest reflect genuine appreciation for its customer? Did it inspire loyalty from me? Does it make me want to return to them? No to all three questions. There's been an insane decline in businesses treating the base of their existence (customers) with appreciation, and I need to rant about it. All that was needed, in this particular case, was a small measure of what we might call "good faith leniency" regarding a mysterious 0.65 gallons of fuel. Such petty, contract-stipulated, penny-pinching behavior really signifies a decline in the old American ethic of businesses actually appreciating the customers who keep them going. They don't seem to understand a basic psychological principle of consumer behavior: when you do things like this... people remember. Shame on BMW Northwest, that's all. More
People were very responsive ,but charges are ridiculous to run code and put in a twelve volt battery was over $800 before tax. So for oil change, replace battery, and put on new wiper blades was 1400 and s to run code and put in a twelve volt battery was over $800 before tax.
