I recently considered buying out the lease of my 22 BMW X3 or leasing another BMW. I contacted BMW North Scottsdale as well as Chapman BMW on Camelback and made appointments to discuss options. I was aware X3 or leasing another BMW. I contacted BMW North Scottsdale as well as Chapman BMW on Camelback and made appointments to discuss options. I was aware of a recall that might prevent BMW from selling the vehicle. I had glanced at the recall notice that I received from BMW and knew that it involved rails and bolts in the rear of the car.I told both dealers when I made appointments that I wanted to drive a X1 and an X3 to help make the decision whether to lease again or purchase. the X3. When I arrived at BMWNS the salesman had prepared a breakdown of options for the lease buyout that included extended warranty prices. When I asked about the recall he contacted his manager who told him the roof rails had been recalled and could be replaced. The salesman made copies of driver's licenses and got a plate to put on the X! that we had arranged to test drive. A few minutes later he returned and told my wife and I that they did not have any X1 vehicles and that he would contact us when one arrived at the dealership. I went to Chapman BMW on Camelback and test drove the X1. We decided to purchase our leased X3. I was informed by the salesman at Chapman BMW that the safety recall involved support rails in the rear of the car. Not roof rails as I was told by BMWNS. The bolts that secured the rails might have broken in a rear end collision and needed to be replaced. Chapman BMW replaced the bolts clearing the manufacturer's recall and we purchased the X3. I have purchased or leased several new and used vehicles at BMWNS. I always make them my first stop because they are closest to my home. This is the third time that I have ended up doing business at a local BMW competitor due to lack of knowledge or competitive pricing NSBMW. More
