I apologize that our miscommunication resulted in you driving up from Texas on a misquoted price for which we just could not sell that vehicle. I understand your frustration with us, and apologize again for getting your hopes up, wasting your time, and frustrating you. Unfortunately, you were working with our newest, least experienced internet sales person. When she called the store for pricing on the car you were asking about, she misheard what our manager said, and sent bad information to you. We understand your desire for us to go ahead and give you the price that she quoted. But as a small auto group, locally family owned and operated, we just are not able to reduce this vehicle to almost $10,000 below the going price, as we hope you can understand. I also want to assure you that we care about our customers and our reputation. As a DealerRater Certified Dealership, we participate in DealerRater’s program to help dealers work with dissatisfied customers. I really appreciate you talking with me through DealerRater in an attempt to resolve this to your satisfaction. I understand if you do not feel that you want to drive back up here and try again with us. We are not perfect, we do make mistakes, and we cannot always fix things. But if you are interested, then we would want to do something very different and “out of the box” to serve you. I am also sorry that our manager, Rick, frustrated you. You are correct that he could have been more empathetic and understanding, especially in light of your long drive up from Texas. But please understand that his hands were tied and he simply was not able to lose $10,000 on the vehicle you wanted by selling it at the misquoted price. I apologize for your frustration with your purchase experience at AutoMax Hyundai Del City. Our goal is to meet your vehicle needs in such a way that you are satisfied with our service and will think of AutoMax first the next time that you are in the market for a vehicle. I am very sorry that we failed to provide that level of satisfaction during your recent purchase. We really do care about our customers, their satisfaction, and their opinions. I also want to thank you for your feedback. Your feedback will definitely help us identify areas where we have room for improvement. You mentioned a couple of things that we have looked into and addressed as per our private correspondence. Our normal procedure is to run all our used vehicles through service for a multi-point inspection and reconditioning as needed, but there are times when used vehicles do sell before we can get the inspections done. We have checked with service about what we did on your vehicle and we are looking at our inspection process on our used vehicles. Our detail department usually fuels vehicles for the sales staff, so your salesman probably had no idea that the door was broken. We have let our detail department know that they need to inform management when they see things like this. Again, I apologize that your vehicle did not live up to your expectations.
