First Time Buyer - Excellent Service - Bought 2020 Rav4 XLE The Back Story: I got referred to Dionna by my friend Chelsea who works at AutoNation Chevrolet. My father helped me purchase my 2010 Toyota Coroll The Back Story: I got referred to Dionna by my friend Chelsea who works at AutoNation Chevrolet. My father helped me purchase my 2010 Toyota Corolla from AutoNation Toyota Scion Pinellas Park back in August of 2009. I messaged Chelsea and told her I wanted to buy a car, but that I really wanted another Toyota. The best advertisement Toyota could put forth for me is that my 2010 Corolla S had about 285K miles on it over the last ten years with virtually no issues at all. This past year I had to get a new alternator and starter...other than that, I've just had to get new tires, oil changes...the usual things that everyone needs to do with any car. I was actually trying to decide between a C-HR, Dodge Charger, and a Jeep. When I was in high school about 20 years ago, I had a used Jeep Grand Cherokee that I had for about a year before the transmission went out. Then I was given a used Chrysler Sebring Convertible that I really liked, but also ended up having a ton of issues. This helped me decide that a Jeep wasn't for me...I just don't trust Chrysler/Fiat anymore, sorry to say. Since Dodge is a part of that group, I decided I would go check out the C-HRs at ANTPP. Test-Drive Experience & Making My Decision: I got there at about 4:30pm and within about 45 minutes I had already test driven the C-HR, the Camry LE, and the Rav4 LE. Keep in mind this was my first car purchase on my own. Dionna was very patient with me and not pushy like the stereotypical car salesperson. I also was grateful that she gave me the space and time to mull it over, but I really didn't need much time after driving the Rav4 Adventure. I ended up opting for the Rav4 XLE Premium which is an AMAZING vehicle. Since I don't really do any off-roading and live in Florida, where there's not really any snow, and I didn't plan on driving through any mud, I decided on the Rav4 XLE Premium, which has heated seats (it helps from mid-November to early March in FL), heated steering wheel, power seats, automatic start/stop ignition button, sensors that automatically unlock the vehicle if I am right next to it with the key, moon roof, pretty decent stock sound system, alloy wheels, and other features that I can't think of right now. The Paperwork & Closing the Deal: I was really planning on getting a C-HR, but I am a young guy in his early 30's who plans on having a family (hopefully lol). The C-HR wouldn't provide the amount of space I'd like to go on road trips. THIS Rav4 XLE Premium DOES provide that. That's when Shivas stepped in to help out. We went back and forth about 3-4 times and he thoroughly explained the extra options (dent protection, window tint, etc) that I could choose from. I opted to remove some of the extra features since I was happy with the vehicle as it was. There was no push-back on me for wanting to remove some of these extra options. Shivas listened to me when I told him I had originally come in to just test drive and MAYBE walk out with a $20K C-HR...instead I ended up walking out with a $30K+ Toyota Rav4...but you know what? If I'm spending a large amount of money on something that I'm going to utilize every day for the next 10 years, then I'm getting what I REALLY like...and this Rav4 XLE Premium was IT. Financing: I was offered a more-than-fair APR on a 72-month loan. Once I accepted the deal, I got to meet Yoanni, a Cuban-American who was extremely personable and kind. I was expecting a cold personality sitting with a finance guy, but this man was easy to talk to and he made the half-hour waiting time seem like five minutes. He also caught an error on my name that I didn't even catch (they had accidentally put "Matt" on the paperwork when my legal name is "Matthew"). I did sort of notice it, but didn't think it mattered...and he actually said that everything needed to match up with my legal name...I have a slight case of OCD, so this made me happy that he noticed this name conflict and corrected everything before letting me leave his office. Overall Experience: AutoNation Toyota Scion Pinellas Park is really a great dealership. Between Dionna, Shivas, and Yoanni, I had the most amazing first-time car-buying experience I think anyone can possibly have. The best part of working with these three people is that they LISTENED to me. I remember looking around for a new car 10 years ago and going to a few different dealerships where the sales guys immediately wrote me off because I looked young. AutoNation Toyota in Pinellas Park should really know that they have three needles in a haystack with these three employees...as a business-owner, it's really a challenge to find employees who are knowledgeable, honest, friendly, patient, and who ACTIVELY LISTEN to the customer...all three people I worked with had all of these qualities. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a vehicle to go check this place out and hopefully they are still there in 10 years when I'm ready to get my next Toyota. More
