I was satisfied with my last two service visits for our Toyota van. But this last one really rubbed me the wrong way and reminded me why I didn’t buy my Toyota from this dealership. The last two visits, I got videos from the service advisor on what they were recommended on my car and also showed the service performed on the vehicle. I usually have one or two recommendations when I visit the dealership but this time around I got full court press from the After Sales Advisor, Joseph Wagner. I declined everything but my planned 70,000 service maintenance and a tire rotation. But this time around, I didn’t get any videos or pictures of what was done in my car or any problems with it. I wanted to get a text an hour hour and a half later saying my car was ready. When I get to the cashier to pay, it shows that I’m only paying for the service maintenance and not the tire rotation. I asked her why I’m not paying for the tire rotation and she says she doesn’t know and then I see on the receipt that the tire rotation is not recommended due that condition of tires. She tells me to go talk to Joseph about it directly. I go to look for Joseph and asked two guys in service about my tires and they say that Joseph will be back in 20 minutes and they really can’t tell me anything about my tires. I even asked one of the guys to read the notes and he says it looks like the tires need attention. I didn’t have time to wait around for Joseph. I just got home and called the service department and spoke to Karen who says the note read I declined wheel alignment and new tires which isn’t true because no one called me about my van having tire issues. I originally bought my van brand new with all the bells and whistles from the formally Elmore Toyota now Beach Cities Toyota in Huntington Beach. I live in Cerritos, but because I had such bad experiences with sales people at Cerritos and Long Beach dealerships, I bought my car from Elmore. From here on out, I will have my car serviced using a non-Toyota trusted local auto car shop. Anyone thinking of buying a car or getting a car service AutoNation Toyota Cerritos, steer far from this place. I’m so frustrated that I will be sending the manager Dennis an email about this. More

The managers on the floor (an Asian guy and an Armenian guy) were the stereotypical sleazy sales representatives that, as Gen Z would say, gave me the ick. On the other hand, Adam, the representative w guy) were the stereotypical sleazy sales representatives that, as Gen Z would say, gave me the ick. On the other hand, Adam, the representative who assisted us with our car selection, was knowledgeable and not at all pushy. He patiently showed us various options until we found one we liked. He even installed our roof racks and accessories before we drove off. I highly recommend working with him. Be prepared to spend a whole day there, as they will keep trying to upsell until there’s nothing left to sell. Keep negotiating—understand that it's a game, and you should play along. Also, make sure you know what the MSRP is on the car so you know how to negotiate. Good luck! Happy car shopping! More
