When visiting Appleway I was very clear on what I wanted out of them before I would be willing to place an order for a car. All along I was told no problem, yes my manager agrees thats not a problem...etc. out of them before I would be willing to place an order for a car. All along I was told no problem, yes my manager agrees thats not a problem...etc. When we went to write up the offer they did not include what I asked for in writing but Paul said oh its not a problem no big deal. I was firm that I wanted it in writing so he went to his manager Gale who then denied us what we wanted all along. They LIED to us the whole time. They were nice liars hence the 3 for friendliness but they're pricing doesn't move at all unless you mention competing dealers. This was the last time I will over go to Appleway. Downtown Subaru took care of me without a problem at all. I'm glad it actually worked out the way it did. More
This was my wife and I's first car buying experience. We came in to meet with a sales rep that we had an appointment for, but we were swarmed by a gentleman named Keith the second we walked in the door. Wh came in to meet with a sales rep that we had an appointment for, but we were swarmed by a gentleman named Keith the second we walked in the door. When we asked for our other agent by name (I believe her name was Jessica), Keith immediately told us she was busy and how could he help. Although I appreciated his willingness to help us, he felt slimy from the get go. So we test drove a few new vehicles with Keith, I let him know up front that I had done my homework and that I didn't want to play games, I just wanted honesty and I wanted a fair deal. Well, Keith proceeded to pull out just about every slimeball trick in the book over the course of the next 3 hours. From overdosing on the very ingenuine compliments to my wife, to highballing us even after I had told him that I had done my homework and I gave him my bottom line, to "losing" our keys so that we couldn't leave (even after we had told him several times that we were on a time constraint due to our childcare), and finally, when we had our car looked at for trade in, they COMPLETELY low balled us for our car and told us that we would need a new part that would run $600, in which we had replaced less than 3 days later for less than $50 WITH labor. Oh, and did I mention that when we came in, we told Keith about a special that they were running online, and he didn't even know what we were referring to, and pretty much ignored that special for the remainder of the day and was trying to get us into vehicles we told him we were not interested in. Real professional. Lastly, they were low on stock, didn't have the color we wanted in the first place, and kept trying to push us into a different color vehicle. It's like he had earmuffs on the entire time we were there. Not only that, but he did 90% of the talking and maybe 10% of the listening, and coming from a sales background myself....those #'s need to be reversed if you want to be a good salesman. Needless to say, we walked out of there and straight to the nearest Subaru competitor the next day, where we ended up purchasing the vehicle we wanted, for the price we wanted, with a sales rep that actually listened to our wants. I would never give my business to Appleway again, based on this experience. Epitome of the "used car salesman" persona that seems to follow this business around. More
I took my subaru outback in to Appleway to repair some oil leaks and repalce the timing belt. They called me and told me I needed a bunch mroe work done (replacing timing belt pulleys and tensioners). I oil leaks and repalce the timing belt. They called me and told me I needed a bunch mroe work done (replacing timing belt pulleys and tensioners). I did a little resarch and found out that these parts come in a kit with the timing belt, seals, and water pump, and that Appleway marked up the price for their parts 50% more than other mechanics in town. They did give me $75 off the cost of parts which made it a little better (still mroe expensive). But when I picked up my car after repair, the timing was off, it got terrible gas mileage, and I had to take it back to them to fix the timing again. I know they never test drove the car after fixing it because the mileage and gas gauge had not changed since I brought it in. I would expect better workmanship from a Subaru dealer and am NEVER going back. More
The buying experience at Appleway was very positive, DJ Miller was extremely helpful in helping us narrow down our preferences to find a vehicle that really fits our needs. When it came down to making an o Miller was extremely helpful in helping us narrow down our preferences to find a vehicle that really fits our needs. When it came down to making an offer they were upfront and honest and got back to me very quickly. This was our first new car buying experience and we were dreading it but it turned out very positive and we are quite pleased with the outcome and the relationships we made in the process. More
