Buying from a dealer has always been easier since I want to be certain the car has been checked over by a service department so I know it will be safe to make a long trip to go back to northern climate,in my case with autonation Honda of Hollywood 22 hours of driving to return home after flying in and buying it. I will say I was impressed with the reviews on there website. (I now feel that those are likely phony) ,you know as in they paid to have them written would be my guess. I also thought after spending a lot of time reviewing the photos ,the car fax and asking the salesperson numerous questions such as how are the tires and has the car been checked over buy service that I was ready to commit ,there response to my questions where . The tires are good at least 50% tread left, and the car has had a complete safety check. They made me feel confident that this car was worth the trip . I will add this car was $10,000 It had 80,000 miles on the odometer. Well they picked me up at the airport as they had volunteered to do. I did have to remind them that when I said I was coming and had check in hand and had put a 48 hour hold on the car that they had volunteered to pick me up. I suggested they pick me up in the vehicle so I could test drive it and be on my way after an inspection of the car was done and the paper work taken care of. The first thing I noticed in driving it was that the brakes where very soft ,the salesperson responded with yes he thought so as well when he drove it to get me , I then asked knowing that this vehicle had a recall on the master cylinder for the brakes if they had done that and he said they had . My question to this sales person now is why if you thought the brakes where soft did you ever let me drive it ? Knowing what I do about brakes I said well maybe they need to be re -bleed the brakes ,maybe they did not get the air out of the lines when they changed the master cylinder,I was trying to work with them I had after all just spent money flying there to buy a car . We pulled into the dealership and I proceeded to inspect the car.The cosmetics where notas good as I pictured from the salesmans description, but I was not expecting perfection on a car with 80,000 miles I was however expecting it to be safe! the front tires where below the wear bars I said not acceptable and they agreed to change them. I then looked at the spare it was flat. I was loosing confidence that any real inspection had been done . But was still willing to work with them. I then opened the hood and realized that this car had been over heated and the insulation mat under the hood was stained with radiator fluid from an over heat. I then called 3 mechanic friends of mine, one of them races for Honda They all said any mechanic worth there salt could tell you from the pics I sent to each of them that this car had overheated and that the potential for head gasket leaks in the future was likely do to possible warping of the heads from overheating . They advised that I walk away from the deal, which I did. To sum up a long winded recounting, I was told confidently from a salesman at autonation Honda that this car had been gone over and was safe ! # 1 ,the brakes where soft #2 tires in font where bad # 3 the spare was flat . # 4 the car showed definite signs of previous overheating. I t is a good thing I am diligent about the cars I drive or I could have been stranded driving home on I -95 with a flat and no spare and possibly an overheated car. I will also throw in that the salesman had promised a $350 reduction in price which he conveniently left off my purchase agreement until I reminded him of, typical of a sneaky salesperson. Conclusion here is that I have come to expect more from a Honda dealership. I have come to trust Honda cars very much too bad I can't trust this dealer who represents them. I hope you don't make a mistake with them. More
Horrific deception I would rate this dealership with negative stars if I could I went to Autonation Honda Hollywood after many back and forth emails with Ernest Rohn, a I would rate this dealership with negative stars if I could I went to Autonation Honda Hollywood after many back and forth emails with Ernest Rohn, an internet salesperson. We agreed on an OTD price for a Honda Civic and I took my daughter in, it was going to be her first car. Ernest took us for a test drive and we asked the typical questions, does it come with 2 keys, a valet key, the owners manuel, etc. He assured us the car had everything. I asked about the warranty and he showed me the paper that the warranty was up and quoted me the prices for the extended warranty. We were shown the car fax, but the car had no service records and/or receipts. We decided to purchase the car. While waiting for 2 hours for the finance manager, Jeremy from finance came over and told us that the car was Certified Pre Owned and came with a 12 month warranty. We signed the papers and then the commotion began. Vladamir our salesperson said they could not find a second key. We waited another 45 minutes for a second key to be cut. He also told us they were detailing the car and making sure it was ready to go. I questioned about how and where the second key was and they hemmed and hawed around the question. 3/4s of the way home (I live in Miami) I realized they did not give me the registration or the valet key. I called Charles Clay, the internet director, and he told me that the car didn’t come with a valet key. I told him both keys and the valet key were checked off on the CPO paperwork and that I hadn’t received the registration. He was adamant that they send the registration and there is no valet key. I told him that is not what the paperwork stated. He checked with the service manager who said yes, it comes with a key and I could pick it up. I balked and told them absolutely not, I was not driving up to Hollywood for their mistake. Haywood assured me they would fed ex it. Cleaning the car we found a hole through the carpet to the floor, that was covered by the mat. The CPO report showed no damage. I was OK with that. We found the registration shoved in the glove box. Nice that a manager does not know anything about the cars/services he sells. We washed, waxed, and cleaned the interior since it had not been done as promised. They had left a Sharpie marker and two pennies inside. How is that for a Honda dealership detailing? The next day I called American Honda and gave them the VIN to check the warranty. Low and behold, my daughter’s new vehicle was not registered as a CPO! I asked them how that works and was told the car is registered when the CPO is completed. I freaked out and called Autonation and demanded to speak with Larry Michaels, the general manager. Him and Haywood were conveniently in a meeting. Haywood got on and I explained what I had found out. He said it was impossible. I told him to call American Honda and he refused. He said he would have to get the paperwork and call back. He called and said that the car was registered in May 2016. I told him it was not and demanded to speak with the GM if not I was calling the news. He magically was able to get out of his meeting. He told me that the car was just purchased and that he had to send in the CPO paperwork in the next day. That would be the third day and make the car unreturnable. My BF was on the other line with American Honda double checking. They told him that is not their policy, the car needed to be certified upon inspection. I told the GM that we were deceived and that how could they sell us the car as CPO when it was not, that is fraud. He told us to bring the car back for a full refund. Never did he nor Haywood say they would call Honda to verify-because they knew the car was not certified. We arrived at the dealership and the receptionist knew of our situation. Not one employee offered an apology or an explanation. The GM was not even around. My daughter was heart broken. Autonation Honda Hollywood is a deceitful dealership full of lying and sleezy people. Never buy a car from there! More

Larry Michaels WORST GM from Diego Larry Michaels is the worst GM. He has no idea what customer service is and I have no idea how he's kept his job for so long. He doesn't care about th Larry Michaels is the worst GM. He has no idea what customer service is and I have no idea how he's kept his job for so long. He doesn't care about the customer what so ever. He called me a liar and basically told me that My car is worth nothing. On top of that he's refusing to give my money back. I was lied to multiple times by two financiers and the general manager, they lead me on and wasted my time. All my paperwork was wrong and I had to go back to do the paperwork all over again and that's when I was lied to again. When I returned the car and got my car back, which was suppose to be a trade, the radio was missing, the car battery was dead, and the took of my emblem from the trunk. When I told the GM to return my car the way I gave it to them he said the only thing he was fixing was the radio, that my car wasn't even worth that much, and that the emblem was cheap to buy. Plus he told me to stop making speculations on how MY car was before I traded it in. This went all the way to the eastern office of autonation and when I told this to the GM he said that he knew and that he spoke with my parents about it. So I got there and minutes later my mom arrived, we confronted him about it. I asked him about it and he said he IS the headquarters and that he called my mom. I told him that my mom has never heard his voice and she has no idea who he is. He was surprised and didn't know what to say so he decided to end the conversation and walk away from us. On top of all this the down payment I gave them has already cleared their bank, which was confirmed by my bank, and I was told that the check hasn't cleared yet. They are very unprofessional starting with the General Manager Larry Michaels More

It was late and this kind of put us off so we told the Daniel that we could come back on Sunday afternoon to do a test drive and try and work a deal if we liked how the car drove. We did return on Sunday and went for a test ride with Daniel and thought that the vehicle performed well and were willing to make a purchase. I informed Daniel of my desire to place a large down payment using my credit card to get points but when another employee overheard this he said that debit would be the only way due to the dealer cost (2 to 3 percent) when using a credit card. My wife and I were ok with that so we decided to try and negotiate on the price. When it came down to negotiating a deal Mr. Dwyer came to us and seemed to be having a bad day. He said that the comparing the Ford Fusion, Mazda 6 and Honda Accord was like comparing apples and oranges. It body language showed that he was upset so we decided to purchase another vehicle. I believe we made the right choice because the Mazda 6 rides like a champ. Daniel was very friendly and cordial, an excellent sales rep. The management need some coaching on how to relate to the customer's needs. More
