After being hit by a drunk driver, my almost new Honda Pilot was taken there by a Chandler towing company (per their recommendation, apparently due to the fact that they receive a monetary payment for rec Pilot was taken there by a Chandler towing company (per their recommendation, apparently due to the fact that they receive a monetary payment for recommending clients to them). This was when they were still Honda Cars of Mesa - the reason they changed their name and didn't even use "Honda Cars of" when they moved is apparently due to the terrible reputation they had in their old location so they didn't want to risk using any portion of their old name (according to other Honda dealerships in the valley). Not only was I lied to and told the adjuster hadn't seen the car when in fact they had already received the check to fix it 5 days before, they still did not start work for another week and took 2 1/2 months to complete the work (according to other reputable sources I have used before, a job that should have taken 3 weeks to do), and tried to keep it another week blaming the insurance company for not listing a seatbelt even though they had had the vehicle torn apart for months and knew that the driver's bag had deployed and the seatbelt was probably damaged. My vehicle was also returned filthy, with dirty rags thrown into it, and I was treated rudely every time I asked when the vehicle would be done. Their mechanics were even incapable of screwing in a headlamp correctly, which was discovered by Tempe Honda (where I bought my Pilot) when I complained to them months later that one of my headlights was pointed at the ground. If there was a way to rate this company with a zero, I would. More
I felt like I was being listened to, in what I was looking for in a car. They treated me with respect and were very helpful in answering questions. There was no pressure, but let me know they were in looking for in a car. They treated me with respect and were very helpful in answering questions. The worst car buying experience. All good until given the keys, I mean key at delivery. No one mentioned that the car came with only one key. Went to service and found out that a new key and remote would be keys, I mean key at delivery. No one mentioned that the car came with only one key. Went to service and found out that a new key and remote would be $248. The Sales Manager came out without saying a word or introduction with a very agressive demeaner. We asked what the dealer would be willing to help us with and the Sales Manager got very boligerent and stated that we took delivery and SANTAN HONDA would do nothing for us. He pointed the direction to service for us, something we already knew. Our "salesman" was no where to be found. All goes well until the end. We were going to buy an extended warranty, now we will look online instead of giving SANTAN HONDA any further business. Buyer beware. More
The entire experience went well up until the finance department. The sales staff were pretty friendly, but our salesman wasn't too knowledgable on the used civic we bought. The facility is nice, and t department. The sales staff were pretty friendly, but our salesman wasn't too knowledgable on the used civic we bought. The facility is nice, and the selection was pretty good. I bought a car that was probably too expensive for the miles it had (stupidity on my part). Their sales staff stayed late to corner us into the sale. Darn those emotional decisions...We liked the car, and needed one, so why refuse? A couple of weeks later they called us back and had us return to sign some "new" financial paperwork. Six months later I finally realized that they had upped our interest rate to 8.9%!!!! At about the same time, the clearcoat on the front bumper has seemingly disintegrated all at once.... Bottom line.... Be aware of the shady financial department. They should have disclosed the exact interest rate to us when we resigned the paperwork, because they certainly weren't upfront about it at all. I was extremely disappointed when I found out they had cheated us, and if I could, I'd drop that car on their lot and make them take it back. In fact...I might just have to try that. More
I am a senior and a widow so I did not know what to expect when I ventured out into the auto buying world..I went to several valley dealerships and was not to happy with the attitudes of the sales peo expect when I ventured out into the auto buying world..I went to several valley dealerships and was not to happy with the attitudes of the sales people. A family member recommended San Tan Honda, (previously Honda Cars of Mesa) I was treated with respect by everyone. From the lady on the phone for directions to the salesman and service..I am not recalling all the names. However, even though I was in unfamiliar territory they all made it easy for me to find the right new Honda that suits my needs. I highly recommend this dealership. Thank you San Tan Honda Another very happy customer... E.Schaffer Mesa More
Our experience with Jerry Polick and SanTan Honda was the most pleasant experience I have ever had buying a car. We knew what we wanted and Jerry went above and beyound to find just the perfect car, exactly most pleasant experience I have ever had buying a car. We knew what we wanted and Jerry went above and beyound to find just the perfect car, exactly the color we wanted and loaded with everything that one would want on a car. Buying a car can be a horrible experience and everyone we dealt with at SanTan Honda were great from the reciptionist, the finance people and especially Jerry. We would recommend Jerry to anyone who would want a Honda car without hesitation. He is a wonderful sales person and does not apply any pressure whatsoever. Not your typical car sales person. There should be more salesmen like Jerry. We haven't dealt with the service department yet but I can only imigine it to be a pleasant experience. Barbara Laws More
My first visit to Honda Cars of Mesa was shortly after they opened the very first dealership in the Mesa area...that was ..BC..before computers..(joke) However, I have been going to the same dealership they opened the very first dealership in the Mesa area...that was ..BC..before computers..(joke) However, I have been going to the same dealership for many years. They are friendly and someone is always there to help. Service has always taken care of any warranty work or a couple of times minor repairs. The body shop repainted an older 1986 Honda CRX after a hail storm did damage ... that was 10 years ago and I still have the CRX with 179,000 miles on it..drive it every day. I/we have also both leased and/or purchased our 4th CRV from Jerry Polick. He is the guy that has been there since about 1985 when I purchased my first CRV. Rather laid back and casual .. no pressure from this salesman. Bud Thurston has helped our friends who wanted to buy an Acura. He (Bud) has the Acura of Tempe dealership also. We have recommended a lot of friends and work associates to Jerry and have never lost a friend. We hear back that they were treated with respect and walked away satisfied with their 'deal'.. Highly recommend this dealership.. Julie and Aaron Haven More
Yes, recommend, but tentatively. They seemed friendly, Yes, recommend, but tentatively. They seemed friendly, but they would not let you test drive the car very vigorously. Additionally, they are not too flexible with their pricing, which by any standard is excessively high. That said, they seem pretty open to discussing past history of vehicles and considering repairing any visible issues prior to selling. More
I went in to buy a car there were several employees just sitting in a corner talking and ne of them came to see what I was looking for. I found a car and when it came to trying to get a good deal they did n sitting in a corner talking and ne of them came to see what I was looking for. I found a car and when it came to trying to get a good deal they did not want to budge much on there price down to the pennies. I decided I could deal with the price as long as they fix all the chips and blemishes in the paint and fill up the gas tank. I went to get the paint job touched up and I bought the warranty with an alarm system. It took them about 9 hours before they called me back saying the car was ready even though I had an appointment. When I went to pick up the car the touch ups were horrible they only touched up two spots that I could see and the paint is brighter than my car. They left a huge crackled paint spot in the bumper and some other minor blemishes and said the dealership did not specify what to do we cannot do anything unless I bring them a better We Owe. I went to the dealership and they said I don't know what was supposed to be done and they don't want to do anything about that. I went home to talk with my husband he called them and got ahold of the guy that sold us the car and he said he would look into it and have the manager call back which never happened and we were told the director would call us back which also never happened. The next day I tried using my second pair of keys and the alarm system kept going off and I could not start the car. I also have problems occasionally with my original set of keys where I cannot start my car I have to keep pressing the unlock button and jiggle the key in the egnition. This is the worst service I have ever had. I love my car but I will never buy from Honda Cars of Mesa Ever again! More
