Beware! Read on and make your own decision. I inquired about a Certified Preowned 2017 Ford Explorer that had 8K and was priced very well at $23,990. Got in touch with a sales person and had some pictures sent. There was some significant damage to the left rear passenger door and was in the process for repair. Ok good so far. I had inquired about a stain that covered about 75% of the drivers seat and was told it had no stains...ok maybe a shadow in the pictures? Asked for some background on the vehicle and was informed previous owner passed away and the family sold the vehicle to them at AutoNation Ford. After a few more questions decided to make the 200+ mile journey to see the vehicle because up to this point everything seemed up front. Day of the trip is when it all goes south...got a call from the salesperson and was told that General Manager said since they had to much in repairs(guess the big scratches and hole(s) in the door was not evident when they purchased it) the vehicle was no longer going to be certified which meant I lost a 1yr/12K mile warranty, and that when the service Dept was inspecting the Explorer found that all four tires had significant enough flat spots to concern them (which is a unknown condition so safety issue!) but was informed that the GM was not interested in replacing them and they found damage to the front lower air dam cowling. SO expressed my displeasure and told the salesperson since I was 3/4 way there would be there anyway and attempt to negotiate it back. Me and my wife arrived at AutoNation Ford in Jacksonville to find the vehicle was not ready even thought the appointment had be set almost two days earlier. 1hr passed and still not ready but the salesperson went and got the Explorer for us to look at....after looking around at some things on the vehicle my wife goes to the drivers side and asked can this stain be removed, at this point I was angry because I asked if there was a stain there and was told no. Told my wife we was done and left the dealership. To wrap this up you decide if you want to deal with AutoNation Ford in Jacksonville. I had an advertised deal changed, a safety concern with the tires and possible biohazard with the drivers seat(after I confirmed it was stained) and none seemed to be an issue with the dealership or the General Manager as it was told to me! If you need any servicing done to your vehicle, I would strongly suggest finding another dealership. Had my truck for 3 weeks before any work was actually completed. First shipment, part was broken, next shipment they discovered more parts needed to be ordered, then the final shipment took a week to even be received. Never was offered to pay for overnight shipping even though it is available. Service Manager is useless and several customer representatives have no clue what is covered under extended warranties or recalls issued from Ford. Stay clear of this service department! More
DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALER. Deceptive pricing tactics. Advertise low prices and then add excess fees. Advertising a vehicle for a 'low price' of $10,000 and adding $1100 in excess fees is the same as selling for $11,100. Not helping anyone's opinion of a used car dealer. They knew the a/c was not good. They fixed it enough to drive it off the lot. Bad Bad business....Now she is left with a hot car......Don't use. More
