Typical car dealer experience Typically when you think of going to a car dealership you think of getting the run around, being told a fair price is too high, and unexpected fees. T Typically when you think of going to a car dealership you think of getting the run around, being told a fair price is too high, and unexpected fees. That's just what I got at this dealership, not the best experience. Pretty typical status quo dealership. Although the sales person, John, was pleasant to deal with I told them what my all in price was. The person who I talked to over the phone told me that they could do it. I kind of felt like he just wanted to get me in the door but came because it seemed like a good deal. We had a event that we were supposed to attend that night and we're pressed for time. He told me that they could probably get us in and out in an hour. We got there at 5:50pm (ish) and left at 8:10pm. In his defense I bought several cars and I should have known it would have taken much longer. As for the price, If any extra fees were going to be applied to the over all cost I would have liked to known far in advance. However, I didn't know about those options until we were signing the paperwork and my wife was excited about getting the car. They told me I could have left off that option but I felt like it was a necessity and one that they could have Incorporated in the all-in price being that it was only a couple hundred dollars. I felt backed into a corner and pressured? to buy the car. I felt like they were feeding off of my wife's happiness and excitement to purchase the car. The general manager came to check on us after the purchase. I told him how I felt? in a calm manner attempting not to come off as combative. I was not looking for him to lower the price or offer any other incentives I simply wanted him to take ownership and apologize for his staff not advising me of the potential extra cost. Maybe that sounds meaningless but principal is everything to me and it would have meant a lot. The general manager, whose name escapes me, simply explained to me that I could go back and take the option off if I would have liked to. At that point I would have loved to have left and told him no deal but did not want to break my wife's heart. The common theme was communication, honest communication. I felt? like I would have been happy with the deal had I been told everything up front. My intent of writing this review is not to put anyone's job at risk, everyone needs a job, but simply to let them know about my experience so they can improve others experience and so that in the future a certain standard of integrity could be upheld. More
