Would give zero stars if possible. I am newly widowed, with two children. Car purchases were not something I had ever had to do on my own without my spouse, making this whole situation that much more stressful. After my daughter's car was totaled by insurance following a minor collision, we needed to find her a vehicle quickly. We found a used car at Auto Nation Chevrolet that was everything she wanted. Stopped by to see the car on 8/27/2024, but told the car was not on site since the person trading it in did not have the title. Told it would be delivered in a couple hours. My daughter returned later that evening, but the car had still not been delivered. The next morning, we were told that the vehicle was in, so my daughter returned to see the car. Later that evening I went back to see the vehicle which would not be available for at least another week, since it had to go through their inspection process. Even though it was priced higher than budget, the salesman noted that it would sell very quickly and that we could put a downpayment to hold the vehicle. I went through the "downpayment" process, which included actually signing all of the purchase paperwork, with the understanding that if something was wrong with the vehicle, the money would be returned. The next day, I found the same year, make, model and features at another dealer, who could have the car ready in two days at a savings of nearly $6,000. Obviously, given the situation we were in, we could not pass on this savings (in time and money.) After contacting Auto Nation Chevrolet and asking if there was anything they could to do refund some or all of the $1,000 downpayment I paid, I was given a straight out "no." $1,000 is honestly nothing to an auto dealer of this size, but to someone trying to hold a household and family together after losing a husband so recently, it makes a big difference. This dealership has no heart. They do not value their customers at people. They are only interested in making the sale - even when no sale occurred. I'm absolutely shocked at the lack of empathy they demonstrated, knowing the situation my daughter and I were in. Shameful. If you're looking for real customer service, go to San Tan Ford. They actually care. More
