These guys have not joined the internet age. They are a traditional car dealership in the best and worst sense - you may be able to make a great deal if the sales manager needs to meet quota, and if you kn traditional car dealership in the best and worst sense - you may be able to make a great deal if the sales manager needs to meet quota, and if you know how to bargain with them, etc., but otherwise you can count on a range of deceptive, high pressure tactics, added "clear coat" crap, reference to their "invoice minimums" and other numbers that don't mean anything, and trying to wear you down. Sales is not discouraged from lying outright. A lot of the the standard Toyota option codes are overpriced, and they have added quite a few "optional" codes unique to Ira Toyota Tewksbury (like $400 of stupid carpet that will get destroyed in three months anyhow). Definitely threaten to walk and start walking at least twice and mean it - they are real believers in the theory that once you're off the lot the lead is gone, it could save you thousands. Mention you are going over to Acton to compare. More

I was told that I needed to replace both my drive belts on my truck @ $170 a peice. After research I found I only have 1 serpintine belt on my truck. They obviously either didn't know their #!* from a whol on my truck @ $170 a peice. After research I found I only have 1 serpintine belt on my truck. They obviously either didn't know their #!* from a whole in the ground or they were trying to scam another female customer. More
Very questionnable sales tactics including advertising cars that are not available. Sales people I dealt with were deceptive and refused access to higher level sales management. cars that are not available. I had to hire an attorney to force IRA TOYOTA of TEWKSBURY, MA to return my elderly mother's deposit. Salesman MIKE IVOS tried to strongarm my mom into taking delivery of an improperly equipped veh TEWKSBURY, MA to return my elderly mother's deposit. Salesman MIKE IVOS tried to strongarm my mom into taking delivery of an improperly equipped vehicle. Sales Mgr JOHN MARTIN claimed to my attorney that there was a misunderstanding and that a side deal or separate deal existed for the optional equipment. Let me ask you, who buys a new vehicle and executes a side deal for optional equipment?! I believe that IRA TOYOTA of TEWKSBURY engages in unfair and deceptive practices. Submit a complaint to the Attorney General's Office and the Better Business Bureau if you have a bad transaction with IRA. Watch out for IRA's tactics - the salesperson carefully detailed the vehicle on the "worksheet" but then re-wrote the vehicle features in code "FE,CV, etc" ("it's like a VIN #" said liar salesperson MIKE IVOS) on the P&S. The first time is ok, the manager gave me a price, I did not take it. They called me again and said there would be a great deal and it was worthy to come. When I went there, the price was even higher than t not take it. They called me again and said there would be a great deal and it was worthy to come. When I went there, the price was even higher than the first time. No one could explain why they called me and what their great deal means. The sales manager talked a lot of nonsense. They were doing business like there is only one dealer in the world. More
I was looking for a particular color Matrix with certain options and found one on the Ira website. I called and spoke with a very pleasant and helpful Shauna, who verified the car was still available and c options and found one on the Ira website. I called and spoke with a very pleasant and helpful Shauna, who verified the car was still available and checked the options. I gave her a very reasonable price that I had received else where and she gave me a slightly better price on the car that I really wanted.
I went down, took the car out, wrapped up the paperwork including low rate financing in about 2 hours. NO ridiculous contract clauses (Else where I was given a contract to sign: if car is not picked up in 48 hours of being notified it is ready, they can resell the car and keep the “down payment”, they required the entire price of the car as the down payment!)
NO game of keep the customer waiting, wearing them down, until they agree to dealer terms. NO crap restricting test drives from including highway driving.
I needed a ride to pick up the car and was going to donate my old car to charity; THEY suggested that I have the charity pick up my old car at their lot.
Brian Flanagan was the sales person; he was accommodating, pleasant and knowledgeable and when he was not100% certain, he double checked information. (I caught other dealers in lies.)
There was one small option missing from the car; they added it and still honored the original price quoted.
I visited both Honda and Toyota dealers. I was going to buy from Auto Fair in NH because of recommendations from some of their customers and this website, but they did not have the car that I wanted in stock. Ira is also much more accessible for me for service; they have 3 Toyota locations.
It is so good to know that buying a car does not have to be painful!

When I have experience with their service, I’ll provide an update.
More
