On September 17th, 2021, I left my Overland 2013 to check the engine light that went off that morning and as it was already there, accepted the 90K service although it was just at about 88K. I was told that the engine light was caused by the thermostat that was stuck and some gasket that was replaced through my extended warranty. I was called end of afternoon to pick up the car and paid the 90K service plus extras for some break’s maintenance for an amount of $2,421.55. I was told by Julio Gutierrez the service advisor, that the car was ready and tested, it was raining and the car was not parked in the car reception area as always, I had to go to the parking lot to retrieve it. As soon as I turned the engine on, I noticed the failure, a car that has always been super quiet and steady, was trembling and the engine could not keep a steady pace while still in parking mode. I went back to report it, all while the rain was pouring on us that afternoon, and I was told that the technician was gone for the week, and that those are temporal issues after the type of work performed. My wife drove the Grand Cherokee Overland 2013 home, a trip that turned into a nightmare, driving a car below 20 mph, under heavy rain, to avoid it turning into a moving washing machine. And scared about blowing the engine. It was a short drive but took forever. I parked the car and requested a toll truck to get it back to Arrigo early on September 19th, 2021. I had to rent a car and push, beg, insist, be belittled to force me to approve that I would pay for the parts if Mopar would not pay them, I had to show up in the dealership multiple times because I did not get called back by Julio Gutierrez, Eddie Arteaga and the executive that replaced Pete Martino, Melissa McCarthy, during Pete’s days he always made me feel important, but the new appointee was very disappointing. After 36 days I was able to return the rental and get back my Grand Cherokee Overland 2013. I decided to make peace with the service department because Eddie Arteaga promised to reimburse me for the maximum he could get approved for the rental, that ended costing me $1,620. I sent him the invoice last November 4th, 2021 – email was never answered. I followed up to the email last December 2nd, 2021 – No answer either. I desisted from this and from the dealership. More
Julio was my service advisor today and he was amazing. Came in for oil change and a noise coming from the engine. I bought a package of three oil changes and tire rotations. Came in today for my service only for them to tell me my package expired. How does something you purchase expire?
