As a first-time buyer, I was taken advantage of, and my trust was severely betrayed. Here's a summary of the events: 1. *Pre-approval and financing*: I received a pre-approval for a $45,000 auto loan through my bank. I then proceeded to finance a vehicle at Arlington Toyota, explicitly informing them three times that the transaction would be direct through my bank. They acknowledged and confirmed this information each time. 2. *Unauthorized hard inquiry and indirect transaction*: Contrary to our agreement, Arlington Toyota conducted a hard inquiry on my credit without my knowledge or consent. Furthermore, they facilitated an indirect transaction through my bank, despite my explicit instructions. 3. *Escalation and complaints filed*: Upon discovering this deception, I promptly escalated the matter to the relevant authorities, filing complaints with: - Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) - Federal Trade Commission (FTC) - TransUnion - Experian - Equifax I will not rest until this matter is thoroughly investigated, and Arlington Toyota is held accountable for their actions. *To my fellow car enthusiasts and concerned citizens*: I urge you to share this warning with your networks, and be cautious when dealing with Arlington Toyota of Jacksonville, Florida. This was strictly a credit transaction. I didn't put any money down. So this has dropped my credit by 44 points... I have been working on my credit for almost 4 years now to get to this point and they just ruined all of that for me. So approval for anything else will now take even longer then expected. I'm also going thru 2 recent deaths in the family that were very close to me and it's been the hardest thing I've ever had to go through on top of dealing with all of this.
