Terrible Was looking to purchase a vehicle. I live Illinois and was going to do it online and have the vehicle shipped to me. Talked to a few gentleman on the Was looking to purchase a vehicle. I live Illinois and was going to do it online and have the vehicle shipped to me. Talked to a few gentleman on the phone and ended up even FaceTiming with one so he could show me the vehicle. The vehicle was listed well within my budget. I went ahead and let them do a credit check for my wife and I. The scores came back great as we knew going into the situation. Normally I don’t let dealerships run my score until we agree to a price. The vehicle was listed well below my budget so I wasn’t worried about it. After going over everything I made an offer. They then came back with a counter offer that was over $4,000 over listing price. I asked where the price came from and they sent me a detailed offer sheet. There was a $1,880 dollar total care package added to the price. A package that was for dealership maintenance stuff that I wouldn’t even be able to utilize since I live in Illinois. I asked what that was about and I was told that is just how they price vehicles now. I found this to be very misleading and kind of shady. I raised my offer several times to get closer to where they wanted to be. I was then told they didn’t want to accept my offer that day because they had two other people interested but hadn’t offered anything and they wanted to see if they could get more from someone else. Also extremely shady and bad business in my eyes. I was ready to sign and go on. I was willing to buy the vehicle as is since there was some stuff they told me that was wrong with it (hood was faded and had been sanded and the trailer brake lever was broke). The guy I talked to on the phone was very nice and tried I think his best to get a deal done. I never talked to anyone higher up but they gave the impression they didn’t care. Checked back the next day and the vehicle was listed $2,000 higher than originally listed. I really don’t recommend this dealership. More
