***** SCAM ALERT - BAIT & SWITCH ***** Arizona Best Cars, via Arthur (salesman) and Mike (finance manager), straight up SCAMMED me out of $500. I put down $500 to temporarily hold a vehicle that Arthur Cars, via Arthur (salesman) and Mike (finance manager), straight up SCAMMED me out of $500. I put down $500 to temporarily hold a vehicle that Arthur assured me came with a manufacturer warranty, Arthur emailed me a form to sign telling me that if I wanted financing, I would need to fill it out so they could get rates. After I texted him asking if this form was necessary and I didn't want to rush into anything, he called me. While on the phone he let me stay under the impression that my deposit was refundable even though I had just messaged him that I didn’t want to rush into anything. He stayed on the line with the whole time I was filling out the form, knowing at the end that the deposit was not refundable while letting me sign a form that said the opposite. When Mike called back he tried adding $3,195 to the car for an extended warranty because what Arthur originally told me was a lie. When I said I was no longer interested, Mike said the deposit was forfeited regardless of what Arthur told me. That's the kind of business you can expect from this place. BAIT & SWITCH So everyone knows, I am filing complaints with the following entities: AG of AZ, AG of PA, BBB, FTC, FCC, DoJ, CFPB then going to Cars, Google Maps, Yelp, Consumer Affairs, Dealer Rater, Car Gurus, and Edmunds to write reviews, then I'm hitting up the local news stations: KSAZ -FOX 10, KPNX - NBC 12, KNXV - ABC 15, KPHO-TV CBS 5, KAET - PBS 8, KASW - Arizona 61. The staff was friendly enough and the car buying process was quick enough. I do trust that the car I bought is in the shape they say it is and I like the limited warranty. I only take one star away because I felt a little too pressured to buy the extended warranty. I’m an informed buyer and I know what I’m going to agree to before I even enter a dealership. So I got a little irritated when I said no to the extended warranty and was pressured endlessly until I bluntly said there’s no way I’m adding any extras on. I get that they need to pitch these things and it’s expected, but I want to be respected the first time I say no I’m not interested. It got to a point that if he pushed further I would have backed completely out. I would still recommend the team overall. Just be informed and if the warranty is for you, that’s great. If it’s not, be prepared to be firm about it. More
