On October 31, 2008, I purchased a 2008 Ford F-150 Super-Crew XLT from All American Ford in Hackensack, NJ. I spoke with Steve Plunkett and a salesman, Justin. My experience was terrible and I will Super-Crew XLT from All American Ford in Hackensack, NJ. I spoke with Steve Plunkett and a salesman, Justin. My experience was terrible and I will never buy another car from All American Ford. Steve Plunkett and Justin do not bear a simple humility that can be transcended in a simple “apology.” They ran my credit without my authorization—I was using my business or my father to purchase the car. I was also told false information about a truck that was being transported after deposit (that I told was non-refundable) to their dealership. Justin mistakenly told me that the car included full volume controls on the steering wheel. This was a major point of purchase for me, but it turned out that the car did not have the controls on the steering wheel. It seemed to me like a “bait and switch” (I am adept at perceiving this as I was a mortgage loan officer during the mortgage boom). After almost walking out on the deal, Steve Plunkett offered to throw in a bed-liner and I Okayed it. So I don’t make this too long-winded, I’ll highlight some issues. • Steve Plunkett promised to call me within 10 days of picking up the vehicle, so I can get my NY plates and have the bed-liner installed “and get you out real fast.” The truck also had a squeaking malfunction in the dash. • 20 days later, I still have not received a call, so I phoned Justin. He told me he’d call me back because he didn’t know, but in the mean time I should set up an appointment with service. Service told me to find out if my plates were in before making an appointment with them. (That made perfect sense.) • Justin didn’t call me back for 2 days, so I called on 11/22/08 and he said he had been sick. My plates and inspection were in. Justin acted like this is no big deal, so he gave no apology. • I asked if the bed-liner was in. Justin told me that they have 2 bed-liners in and I should make an appointment. I asked if that guarantees me one of the bed-liners, and Justin confirmed that it did. I made an appointment for November 28 at 7:30 am. • On November 28, I was the first customer at the service department. • Service informed me that there were no bed-liners in stock and Steve or Justin should have given me a “we owe” paper. Justin was available at approximately 10:30 am, and I waited because the drive back to New York was 1.5 hours away. • Justin told me that the bed-liner should have been in and “bed-liners usually go first come, first served.” Justin handed me my envelope and said, “Here are your plates your inspection sticker.” I was angry that I had to wait longer, but I remained patient of all the mistakes. • I waited and finally got my bed-liner at 4:30pm. I SPENT THE WHOLE BLACK FRIDAY AT THE DEALERSHIP. I complained about my experience, but Steve Plunkett refused to apologize or to offer me something for my trouble (except I wanted a rain-guard accessory and they said they could give me cost—but I’d have to come back when they had it in stock!) The next day, I got a ticket in New York City for “Expired Inspection” costing $65—the inspection expired on 11/26/08. I called Justin about fixing this issue and he said he’d call me back. I have yet to get a call back. Today is December 14, 2008. I refuse to ever go back to All-American Ford in Hackensack, and my experience helps me to reconsider ever buying another Ford. More

I brought my vehicle in for service (check engine light came on) on 8/6/07. While there I has also asked that they detail the car. It is now 8/8, i still don't have the car back. I've called repeatedly to came on) on 8/6/07. While there I has also asked that they detail the car. It is now 8/8, i still don't have the car back. I've called repeatedly to talk to the service person, and keep getting told he's on the phone and will call me back. I've has this happen previously as well when I brought the vehicle in for service. I sent several customers there early on, they purchased vehicles, but in the end, their experiences have been just as bad. Not to mention their prices are astronmical. i'm getting charged over 700.00 to instal an 80 dollar fuel pump. More
Took my 2001 Ford Focus for the service because of the problem with electrical system. Have been promised that it would not take more than 1 day. At the end of the day, came to dealership and been told " problem with electrical system. Have been promised that it would not take more than 1 day. At the end of the day, came to dealership and been told "Car is not ready". As I found nobody even bother to take a look at the car. To make a long story short, it took 3 days with me constantly calling to the service, to fix 1 hour problem. I was charged $300 for the relay change. Would not recommend. This dealership suck! More
I purchased a 1999 GMC Suburban from their sister company, Great American Chevrolet, on Friday, December 10, 2004. Prior to purchasing the vehicle my husband and I inquired about the brakes on the company, Great American Chevrolet, on Friday, December 10, 2004. Prior to purchasing the vehicle my husband and I inquired about the brakes on the vehicle. We were told by Roberto that, “The brakes are good. Our mechanic checked them and they are good.” I also stated my concern due to the vehicle needing to pass a Pennsylvania State Inspection. I was told that there wouldn’t be a problem, that the vehicle had recently passed a New Jersey Inspection and was good for two years. I was told that in the state of New Jersey, that vehicles MUST be taken to the State DMV for inspection.

After driving the vehicle at a greater rate of speed, on the trip home, than what the “test drive” in the city allowed, I noticed a “shimmy” in the steering wheel while applying the brakes. I called Roberto Monday, December 13, 2004 to alert him of this and of my concern that there might be something wrong. I also told him that I had am appointment to have the vehicle inspected at a Pennsylvania State Inspection facility on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 and I would let him know how I made out.

The vehicle failed Pennsylvania State Inspection due to inadequacy of the brakes. While at the inspection facility I was also made aware of the fact that if I should get pulled over by the police in the State of Pennsylvania, that I do not have proper paperwork stating that I own the vehicle. I contacted Pennsylvania Department of Motor Vehicle regarding this and was told that I should have received temporary registration paperwork along with the temporary plate. I also contacted New Jersey DMV to inquire about the vehicle's inspection report and at that time was told that that particular vehicle was inspected at a Private Inspection Facility. Interesting since the dealer told me that by New Jersey law, vehicle must go directly to the state DMV..

I contacted Anthony, the sales manager, while I was still at the Pennsylvania State Inspection facility to alert him to the fact that the brakes were inadequate therefore failing Pennsylvania State Inspection and that I do not have the proper paperwork for the vehicle to be registered in PA.

I feel that I was falsely given information regarding the purchase of the 1999 Suburban. It was offered that if I wanted to bring the vehicle back to their facility, they would look at it to see if there was a problem with the brakes. I think this is unacceptable to ask me to not only endanger my own life, but the lives of others by driving the vechicle with the quality, or lack of, brakes on the vehicle for which they specifically told me their mechanic checked and were good.

It is now January 5, 2005 and I have had the brakes repaired at my expense to make the vehicle safe to be on the road, but I still have not received the proper paperwork to have the vehicle registered in the state of PA or inspected.
