This is actually about my new car purchase experience and my first 2 service visits. All has been very positive. 1. Buying experience: I'm tall. I don't fit into a Camry with a moon roof. But I wan my first 2 service visits. All has been very positive. 1. Buying experience: I'm tall. I don't fit into a Camry with a moon roof. But I wanted a 2013 Camry Hybrid XLE without a moonroof. That is a valid combination offered by Toyota, but you just don't see them on any lot anywhere. A dealer would have to special request this from the factory for me. Fine. I contacted a number of dealerships and no one wanted to bother with it. They simply blew me off, telling me that it would take 8 months and/or Toyota won't accept a special request - or they tried to sell me something else - that I didn't want. Then I contacted George Jermstad at Jack Taylor Alexandria Toyota. He confirmed that the car would have to be special requested from the factory (Georgetown, KY), and there was no guarantee Toyota would accept the request, but he would try for me. It would likely take up to 90 days. Fine. I signed the contract and he placed the order - which Toyota accepted and I had my special requested car 5 weeks later. George was excellent to work with through this entire process. 2. Service experience: My new Camry came with the standard navigation system. Compared to my $134 Garmin unit, the Camry navigation system is just plain awful! It gives completely wrong verbal instructions and is generally far inferior to the Garmin unit. I contacted Toyota via the website and they blew me off several times, finally telling me to go through my dealership. So I did. Even though they have nothing to do with how well the navigation system works or doesn't work, Alexandria Toyota has dilligently and patiently worked with me on this. Without going into great detail, Alexandria Toyota went the extra mile and then some in trying to help me resolve the navigation system issues. My gripe is with Toyota for the terrible design of the navigation system and not at all with Alexandria Toyota. At this point, I seriously doubt that Toyota will ever make the necessary substantial improvements needed and I'm resolved to continue using my Garmin unit stuck on the windshield. But I greatly appreciate how much Alexandria Toyota genuinely tried to help me with this - unlike Toyota corporate who simply blew me off. The individual most helpful in all of this, plus with the routine service of my new car, is the assistant service manager, Roy Krebs. I can't say enough good things about Roy. He's simply excellent to work with. Other service experience: When you drive into the service reception area, you're immediately greeted by cordial, respectful staff who take care of the necessary paperwork and get you on your way in a very timely manner. So far, I've had 2 services on my new car, both covered as part of the 2 year free service, so I can't comment on price. Each experience has been very positive with the work done on time and my car returned to me with a free car wash to boot. One final comment - lest you wonder if I'm a real customer or not... I bought my 97 Camry at Ourisman Fairfax Toyota - and I had nothing but bad experiences with them including lying to me and trying to rip me off. I'll never go back there. One last final comment. There are about 6 Toyota dealers closer to my house than Jack Taylor Alexandria Toyota. The extra drive is so worth it. Dave Roycraft Burke, VA More
I called and talked with a Thomas Perrell who was very courteous and when I arrived the next day he made me feel like a VIP. My Prius needed a new set of tires, so I got on the phone and rounded up some quotes. Six phone calls later, I had a winner: Paul Sonnhalter at Jack Taylor Toyota. He answered the phone in person - the only one to do so - and gave me a quick quote that beat all the others (including Costco, two chain tire centers, a small service shop, and Kay Jennings Springfield Toyota, who's quoted price was over than $200 more than Jack Taylor's. Koon's Arlington Toyota put me on hold so long I hung up.) They had the tires in stock, and got me in the following morning. I never expected a dealer to have the best price, and wouldn't even have considered getting a dealership quote were it not for Toyota's buy 3, get 1 for $1 tire sale. But wait! There's more! They estimated that the service would take 90 minutes. They were finished in an hour, UNDER the quoted price AND noticed that my state inspection was about to expire, so they threw that in too! Paul greeted me by name when I came back to get the car, even though I'd only spoken to him for a few minutes, and he had a waiting room full of customers. Paul introduced me to the general manager, who was also super friendly. I've found my new service center, and my next new car dealer - these guys can't be beat. More

Paul Sonnhalter's team consistently gets our service needs handled according to our objectives and and what is best for the cars. They do so quickly and well. I learned long ago to stop going off-shelf for parts and service. When I go to Alexandria Toyota for a service, I go just once. They do the job right the first time. More
