The voltage on my 2012 Avalanche had dropped significantly. It had done this the day before too and the truck had begun running rough. I thought it might be my high output alternator acting up, so I had my original factory alternator put back in. That was when it acted up near Advantage. I told them what was going on. They told me it would be about 5 hours before someone could look at it, but they were going to put one of their good electrical techs on it. I ended up leaving the truck there and continued onto Indiana in another one of my vehicles. After 24 hours of my vehicle being in their shop I was told that it was my alternator. They put in a high output GM alternator into my truck at the cost of $720.91. I picked up my truck the next day and took it home. Within a couple of days I was once again losing voltage. I took it and had the battery checked. It tested at 65%. I replaced the battery, and I have had no issues since. It appears based on their paperwork that the battery was never tested. Based on the status of the battery it also seems that my alternator was not the issue which was confirmed when they told me that my factory alternator tested fine. I contacted their Service Manager Len Paluch to discuss my service. Two days later I received a call from a gentleman named Jim. I am assuming he was from service. He apologized about the issues with my truck and was happy to hear that I got "the Gremlins out of my truck." He also said that they should have checked my battery and speculated that maybe there was something wrong with their testing equipment, but that is as far as he went. At no point in time did he offer to refund all or even a portion of this unneeded part. I have been informed that there are systems in place for situations like this where GM can cover things like this under some warranty when their dealerships drop the ball. I mentioned this to Jim and pretty much got no response. I am annoyed that they aren't stepping up to take care of this repair. I am also angry that their Service Manager, Len Paluch, didn't think my complaint was important enough for him to call me back. I will continue to pursue this complaint with GM. Very disappointed in this dealership as a long time Chevrolet owner. More

While I was waiting for service to be done, Debra talked me into speaking with a salesman and he was wonderful! He took the time to show me the new vehicles he had in stock, answered my questions and spent a lot of time with me. Tony Wyatt was very courteous and helpful. I would also like to thank Raul for his great service in getting my previous car serviced quickly and thoroughly. I have been going to Advantage for service on my old vehicle for quite a while. Each and every time was a nice experience...from the people I met to the quality of service and length of waiting time. A huge thank you to a wonderful dealership! More

Still Broken Years Later. When I bought tires at the dealership years ago I complained that I thought my rear caliper was malfunctioning because it felt like the brake was grab When I bought tires at the dealership years ago I complained that I thought my rear caliper was malfunctioning because it felt like the brake was grabbing even though I wasn't touching it.. It was a violent wheel-locking experience. I was told nothing was wrong with the caliper. The problem continued and I continued to complain. Even though the vehicle was under warranty, I had one of my mechanics check my truck. He explained that the axle was off slightly and was probably locking up as I described. I forwarded this info to Deena and was told "Nothing is wrong. They took it for a test drive." My truck continues to lock up. I took matters into my own hands again and had Jiffy Lube do a differential service. The amount of metal, including a chunk of a gear, obtained from my rear axle was ridiculous. I kept the metal. I called Detroit for the second time this year to complain; especially loud since I now had proof of my axle problem and of the complete uselessness of the Hodgkins service department. Of course I was told a resolution would be forthcoming within 48 hours. I have called Detroit daily for a week. No one has contacted me. It has been 9 days. Serena (in Detroit) doesn't take or return my calls though I leave messages. My vehicle has been at this dealership for service more than 5 times in the last year yet my "Check Engine" light has been on every day but 3 over the last 14 months. They have returned my vehicle damaged. They have returned my vehicle with the tail lights unplugged. They have returned my vehicle without even attempting to explain why the check engine light is on. They have asked and received additional opportunities to "get it right" and have failed on all accounts. The final insult came when I was lied to after my last visit. This dealership's inability to do warranty work on my commercial vehicle has cost me thousands of dollars. I have let my feelings be known on their surveys. I have complained to Detroit, my commercial salesman Scott Yassinger, and Hodgkins Chevrolet. I have owned and maintained more than a dozen Chevy trucks. I will be ignored no longer. More

GREAT SALEMAN AND SERVICE DEPT. Tony Wyatt was my salesman back on Nov.16, 2012 when I traded in a 2010 Cobalt for a 2012 Cruze. He is very patient and really cares about the custom Tony Wyatt was my salesman back on Nov.16, 2012 when I traded in a 2010 Cobalt for a 2012 Cruze. He is very patient and really cares about the customer. Sometimes test rides can be "white knuckle" rides for the sales person, but Tony appeared to be relaxed when he sat in the front passenger seat as I took the Cruze for a little spin. After spending almost all of his 8 hour day with me, he sold a 2012 Cruze and I traded in a 2010 Cobalt. After a new car sale, it is very unusual for a dealer to have any more communication with me, but lo, and behold, I went back to Advantage for an oil change and the Auto Guard ( probably because the Auto Guard is FREE.) I've brought my car in several times now for service, and found the service dept. has lots of patience too. The Auto Guard is a great product and I found that the charge for the oil change is competitive with any independent shop out there. After I check-in my car with the gentleman service greeter, who tags my keys and rear view mirror, I go into the service customer sitting area. Tony always comes out of nowhere to greet me and shows his appreciation. The courteous treatment I get from the time I call to make a service appointment, to the time service is completed, will definitely keep me coming back. I don't usually endorse any car dealership, but Advantage has popped up in many car conversations since Nov. of 2012. Advantage is committed to the highest quality of customer service!!! More
