I brought in my equinox and they told me I needed a new starter that would cost $900 or more. I got a second opinion and it was not the starter, the computer connection and wiring was just rusted and corro starter that would cost $900 or more. I saved myself $500 not keeping my car with you and even more as you would have “fixed” my starter and the issue would have continued. If unintentionally done then it happens but you guys are a scam. Up until picking up my car, I had a great experience with Advantage. It was a complicated repair situation involving another dealership and GM corporate where the end result was the entire clutch system need Advantage. It was a complicated repair situation involving another dealership and GM corporate where the end result was the entire clutch system needed to be replaced due to an error of the other dealer. They communicated regularly and provided videos and documentation of the estimate. They completed a complete replacement of the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder on a Corvette. However upon picking up the car, the manager seemed annoyed when I asked for a test drive before checking out. Upon getting into the car, the manual transmission would not engage reverse. We both tried it and concluded there was something wrong. My worry was something was not repaired correctly. The car is 15 years old with only 10k miles so it has been babied it's entire life. So I would have expected some sort of apology that the car was not in pristine order after being worked on for about a week. Instead I got an annoyed look from the manager that he had to have the service techs put it on the rack again. After waiting about another hour, the car was brought around and seemed to be in working order with reverse now allowing it to be engaged with the clutch. No explanation was offered as to what they did or what changed, I was just told that "I was not putting the car in reverse properly" even though the manager couldn't even get it in gear. Even after waiting all that time and being told that "nothing was mechanically wrong," I did not even receive an acknowledgement of the inconvenience nor any sort of apology for my time. By the way, I then had to go in and pay the dealership $3,200 for the experience. While this dealer may be used to servicing customers with routine repairs on passenger vehicles, they certainly were not sensitive at all to how important a family classic car should be treated OR basic customer service when an issue is identified. **I will say that Rich (unsure of last name) was excellent to work with and very communicative.
