However, the introduction of hybrid versions, such as the 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, brings a horsepower boost and that zippy off the line acceleration feel of a battery-powered car.The result is that the RAV4 Hybrid feels more energetic than its non-hybrid cousin (reviewed separately). The Toyota will cover the 0-60-mph dash in well under 8 seconds, which is pretty decent by compact SUV standards.The 2021 RAV4 Hybrid is also a tad quicker in acceleration than the Honda CR-V Hybrid, which has a smaller 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine compared to the Toyota's 2.5-liter 4-cylinder. Both Toyota and Honda hybrids team their engines with two electric motors, although the engineering configurations are different.At the wheel, the RAV4 Hybrid handles decently, responding competently to steering inputs and managing excessive body roll in corners.What's impressive is the 2021 RAV4 Hybrid's fuel economy, which easily outpaces that of its non-hybrid peers. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates the Toyota will return 41 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city, 38 mpg on the highway, and 40 mpg combined.Considering that the RAV4 Hybrid accelerates relatively keenly for a small SUV, the Toyota's impressive fuel efficiency is remarkable and a compelling reason for putting it on your shopping list.Interior ComfortLogically laid out and well equipped, the 2021 RAV4 Hybrid cabin leans towards a purposeful look that's appropriate for an SUV with a slightly sporty attitude.While the Honda CR-V Hybrid interior can be specified with simulated wood dashboard and door trim, the Toyota is all about metal finish accents and blue and brown stitching colors.Practical touches abound insi
